I've read through Ryysa's EWAR guide at: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=511720&page=1
It's a great read and I suggest it to anyone curious about the topic. I'm about to join some friends in a 0.0 corp. I'm only a few months old and my high sec missions haven't really forced me to learn anything about practical EWAR against real players.
Is there a decent T1 ship that can fill the roles of a jammer/tracking disruptor in a group? We aren't pirates and mainly mine but occasionally we get a war dec against us.
My skills only permit me the use of T1 GALLENTE ships at the moment and before I decide to try EWAR I wanted to know if it's worth it to use EWAR with that level of ship or should I continue to fit my vessels for DPS and train for a true EWAR vessel like some of the ones mentioned in Ryysa's post.
The Celestis is a Gallente T1 crusier with 5 mid slots. Seems like it may do the EWAR job nicely but I'm confused on how exactly you setup the High and Low slots on an EWAR ship. I'm assuming I don't want to put much effort on the guns on my EWAR vessels since my groupmates should be taking advantage of the situations I create. I'm also assuming with only 3 low slots on that ship is it even worth it to setup a tank? Damage Control module and pray?
What EWAR modules do you find have the most practical benefits for your group when you go toe to toe with another similar sized group?
If Gallente is the wrong direction to take please say so. I'm not against learning the ships of another race.

Yeah, change your plan for Caldari Recons, They are much more efficient now than the dampeners ships.
