(Fumoffu for pure comedy, but watch all three series they are all great). Edit: Forgot to add Azumanga Daioh. ---

I don't know, some animes are very emotionally powerful in parts. I cried after 3 different episodes of Elfen Lied which is strange since I never cry normally. Those animes are short-lived though since they just don't work when you try and watch them again... the emotion just flies past you (rather than punching you in the face) and it's all very meh. Black Lagoon is imo the opposite end of the spectrum however and is definately a 'cure' of sorts, since it portrays many of the characters total lack of emotion, compassion or mercy. (barring the main character, who comes across as pathetic, whiny and annoying in comparison)

Crest/Banner of the Stars saga. --- planetary interaction idea!
