So, I'm Caldari specialized and interested in hanging around lowsec gates. Also, I have a strong dislike for Drakes (they're EVERYWHERE!).
Is there a good Caldari ship for lowsec work? I've considered the Moa with it's resist bonus, but I suspect a cruiser would get wtfbbqed by the gate guns. A Raven might be a possibility, but doesn't seem ideal - also, I'm not sure how I would set one up for such a thing.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? What's a Caldari pilot to do?

Well the Drake is a good place to start. Or just go T2.
Hictors are supposed to have a beastly tank.

I'd just use a Drake. Sometimes you just have to accept when something is the best ship for the job, even if it's boring. This seems to be the MO of the Caldari. But that's kind of the point of their race, efficiency above all else, aesthetics and other superficial variables be damned.

And that makes me smile... you have no idea.
Onyx is amazing for tanking sentries... Drake is slow and clumsy, and I never want to see one again.

 DRAKE - good tank but would not recommend for solo work
Nighthawk or Vulture - great for gate camps and solo work
cerberus - good for solo work and belt ransoms
ONYX - Best ship for low sec fun - this ship has all the requirements.

Thanks all, interesting advice.
I can fly a Cerb, may have to give that a shot. A Ferox could be interesting, but I think my BC skills are a bit weak, as well as my gunnery skills... although it would give me something to work towards.

You spend 50 mil on a cruiser that can perma tank sentries. Laughable 170 dps - who cares you have friends at the gate with you.
Get triple remote sensor boosted -> 4-digit sensor scan resolution.
