Hello all. I have never posted before but used the forum a lot and if there is a topic for this already I am sorry.
After reading a lot of posts about Amarr ships and pvp i decided to train for amarr so that i could be "THE ONE" who could be successful with this race of ships. I have lost some focus in the past weeks and was reading some more and more posts that seem to say it is a hopeless task and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some stories about how they were able to make these ships work. Especially odd or random setups and T1 ships if possible. I'm a month from T2's myself and am trying to get my support skills up first.
I'm sure there will be a flame but please... I'm trying to add some encouragement and new ideas to this subject.

You picked a good time to start amarr. Their ships are getting a boost soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw a few posts about boosts but they were all old. I search the forums. I don't navigate them well. |

Thank you i will do that. I was really kinda looking for some new ideas on fitting and training that were out of the norm. I've been looking at implants and upgrades for different weapons and going for a survival setup. |

Im guessing you like lasers, so lets look at those ships.
Id say start off with Punisher -> Coercer -> Harbinger -> Battleship. Also train the hac/cs skills. Start with Interceptors -> Hacs -> if you feel like it, command ships.
If youre new just aim for harbinger at once. The cruisers are not so great tbh but some might get a fix soon so its hard to tell.

Edited by: Arkios Odymei on 02/02/2008 04:31:23 Well, If your flying amarr ships that have "real" bonuses to lasers, then stick with using lasers. If it doesnt, then MAYBE think about using different weapon systems. Best bet is to work towards smaller ships such as Cruisers or BC's before you get into a BS.
Also, train up alot of your support skills, such as Armor tanking, Capacitor and Gunnery (all three form the holy trinity of amarr combat philosophy.)
Edit: By "real bonus", I mean a gun bonus that is not just that silly -10% cap use bonus that all amarr ships have. A Real bonus is like the ROF bonus on the Armageddon or Omen, or the Damage bonus on the Abaddon, etc
Also, If you are interested, Amarr have a group of Tech 2 ships known a Khanid ships. They are an off shoot of the Amarr race, and are very similar, but instead of lasers, they focus on Close ranged Missile systems. They may be something to look into later on. ------------------------------------------------------------------

I have not done pvp any more than just wtf! i'm in a station. I seem to suck at forums aswell. When i look at the faction ships that use multi ship skills it seems amarr are not being used in ways they could be. I see all the posts on boosts and what not but that seems like an RP thing. Amarr are old and set in there ways. I have a lot of RP in me and accept the limits. As I study the universe more i feel a need to try and expand those limits, not with a magic line of code but with new ideas. |
