Those look more like what I'd call crumpets.
What I know as Pancakes are thicker and generally smaller, think people in England or other places call them "Dropped Scones"

Pancakes of norwegian variety is a bit thinner than that, though generally not paper thin, more like a slice of bread.
Swedish pancakes are thin, like paper, served with strawberries.
The pancakes in OP's server was delicious looking!

Yea seen this on youtube (it was featured on the UK youtube).

And yes, they are pancakes.
Speaking of America VS UK food, 2 out of 2 american people I have asked have never tried a curry (one didnt even know what one was!!!?!?!); unless they are called something different, NO PASTYS!; NO CADBURYS!!!!
