I am currently doing Level 2's in a Brutix, but the range of blasters is quite low. Was thinking of switching over to a Hurricane to take advantage of the 20+ KM range of Artillery guns. Are Hurricane's good for doing Level 3's? I looked up some fittings on Battleclinic, but was hoping to see some more here since I hear BC is not a good fitting reference site (if they are suitable for Level 3's, that is).

You could just fit Railguns to your Brutix.

I could, but I don't think it grants a bonus to railguns, or does it?
Does a Hurricane grant a bonus to artillery? It has a 5% bonus to projectile turret damage, so does artillery fall under that?
Thought I would go with something that has a bonus... |

Brutix has a bonus to hybrid weapons which affects both long range (railguns) and and short range (blasters) variants. Projectile bonuses on the hurricane would include artillery and autocannons the same way. |

With that said, a hurricane is a better choice of ship anyway.
Autocannons (close range) are very nice. They work in their falloff so you don't have to be right up close (though better)
Arties while massive alpha, don't have the best tracking and quite slow rate of fire.
if you're new, I'd go minny ships. |

Brutix is a good gank ship, but blaster range ganking is generally more of a PvP thing. |

BattleClinic actually has allot of very decent mission running hurricane loadouts, both shield and armor, arties and autos.

You just need to show loadouts from all time, then use the search feature for the ship type, PvE tag and sort by rating to filter out the total trash, the first page or 2 are probably worth looking at.
Any of those fit's can be adapted to your skill level by using named/T1 where you can't use T2 or visa-versa.

Assuming you mean suicide ganking, the brutix is ideal for ganking in 0.5 and 0.6 systems, where the concord response is long enough that your blasters raw dps outperforms the alpha of other weapon systems. ALso best for ganking miners and things you can fly right up to. Artillery are best for ganking on gates, where their range allows you to fire on a target as soon as its visible, where they might warp off before a brutix can get close enough to start attacking. The large alphastrike of artillery also means you plan to take down the target in one shot, and concord response time is irrelevant. |

Indeed I'm planning on suicide ganking, but I'd like to gank miners in higher systems than .5 and .6.
What would I need to take out a tanked Hulk in 1.0 by myself? Tornado? ISK is not an issue. |
