What he said.
Turn off the PC, open the case, remove the screw keeping the card in place and carefully remove the card, then using a small brush or something clean the dust off the fan. Once done, put the card back in its old spot, connect everything up again. (making sure the card sits properly in its slot) close the case, and turn it on again. No more additional noise, and a cooler card.

if ye got crappy bearings and dust in there, sometimes you just have to live with the noise. a tiny wee bit of dust can make a fan squeal and it will still live on for years.
any ideas for that? (instead of "get a new fan") ?

Could try putting a few drops of oil in the bearings. I had 2 fans on different cards 'burn out' as such and they would stop spinning completely when they got too hot (which really didn't help in their quest of cooling, allowing temps to reach as much as 120 C)
a nice clean and few drops of oil in the bearings compeltely solved the problem on both cards. It also spun a lot quieter after that.

Make sure you wear an anti-static wrist clip or something similar, or you could potentially brick your graphics card just by touching it. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

It does make a bit more noise when playing games since it increases the fan speed when it gets warmer. Could be how it should be, but anything described as a squeal doesn't sound fully right. Since it's brand new, it might be worth taking it back to the store for a check-up.

Doesn't change the fact that some dust could have got stuck within the fan. 族---族

I think I might be there with you on the weird squeal. when I was running ubuntu on my desktop and I would run certain opengl renders, I would hear this high pitched whine from my pc. But it only happened on certain 3d things. Other 3d stuff was zero whine.. Not sure but pretty weird. Try adjusting your video settings and see if that makes a diff.
