"I am told the Shares system for Corporations is broken. It is broken because the Shares system does not act like the stock market, where an individual invests some amount of money per share in a company, expecting a return value greater than the investment value.
I, and many of my fellow members of the Praetorian Prima - Tutamen Corporation, feel that this system should be fixed so that it fullfils the following objectives:
-The system must display a market index of all the corporations in existance in New Eden
-The system must allow for purchase of shares for any corporation in existance in New Eden, even if the investor may or may not be in the corporations he or she is intending to invest in
-Growth of corporations result in growth of the corresponding share, which results in a increased return for prospective investors
-Shrinkage of corporations result in a reduction in value for the corresponding share, which results in a decreased return for prospective investors
-The value of a corporation reflects on its productivity (i.e. income from sales, bounties, contracts, etc.)
-If a corporation ceases to exist, then the investors who have invested in the now non-existant corporation will be given the current market price of that corporation's share value
-A CEO, or any player in a lower posistion, of a corporation cannot access the value of the corporation, but can invest their ISK into the corporation by buying shares of the corporation, or sell shares of the corporation. More vaule that is invested into a corporation, the more return it could potentially return to the investor
I believe with a functioning Shares system in EVE Online, the game will open a new dimension of features to current and new players alike. Players will be inspired and motivated to improve the corporation they work for, or may invest in successful corporations for a risk in profit, or invest in a new corporation in hopes of faster growth.
