A dual international EVE player meet is being arranged, both on the same date (Saturday 5th April), one in Philadelphia PA, the other in Central London. Below are the details of the UK gig.
The meet will be just like any other meet you may have been to or heard about, the only difference is that later on in the evening the winners of the E-ON Awards will be announced, and, if present, duly crowned. No doubt we'll have some swag to give out and perhaps some surprise guests too.
Voting for the award finalists (nominated by Fanfest goers back in November and revealed in the latest E-ON) will begin very soon - preceded by a Dev Blog, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Needless to say that you won't have to be an E-ON reader to vote or attend - like all EVE players meet, this one is all about getting together and sharing EVE experiences.
The Durrell Arms is the pub that's been chosen and it's a very decent and spacious place. It's a 5-10 minute walk from Parson's Green tube, a bit longer from Fulham Broadway or Hammersmith stations. Those coming from further afield can get there from Clapham Junction train station by hopping on a 295 bus and getting off at Dawes Rd. EVE TV hosted a meet there last year that went down well, so the landlady is happy for a re-run. Although the pub is listed as an over-21s place, if you're younger (but 18 or over, of course) do take some ID with you - you should be fine.
Since I'll be in the US attending the meet over there, a suitable replacement will be recruited to handle the presentation duties in London.
No, there won't be a satellite link up :)

Probably, some bigger pubs do on a saturday night, wetherspoons do sometimes around here but they might not, just go in with some ancient looking people and hope for the best!

Out of interest, will there be any sort of meeting-up at or near the station beforehand, say in the region of 3:30-3:45ish? It's just, never having been to an EVE meet in my life, I have no idea whom to look for, which would be kind of daunting especially if we don't have the pub completely to ourselves.

This looks like the same pub EVE-TV used for their pub meet.
If it is, will we be the only people using it? As there was general public access last time and several jackets went missing.
After people staretd gathering we have discovered that a jacket left over at mine from last time is not in fact belonging to anyone in CVA or PIE.
We will bring it to the pub with us and put it on the rack.... Hopefully the original owner might be surprised to see it

First time back early from Eve meet. Was nice but def not the best location. Very loud could not here anything, both when chatting to others and on the very bried presentation.
The only highlight of the evening was a short chat with Kitano. Very interesting and even managed to pretend to be interested in the random s**t I came out with.
As always Ari was great talking to you, until it got too loud to do so.

Now that you mention it, it was very ver loud, my ears are still ringing.
The location was in chelsea = Very expensive food/drinks.
And because this was a saturday night, the pub was open for public just as well.

Aye, was pretty awesome. My first meet also. Met a lot of ex-Tri friends, especially some omen guys and generally had a laugh.
At the guy who was complaining about being 17....I'm 17 and I was there, hell I got served as well...shoulda just come along
One thing I didn't do though (that I regret not doing) was going over and chatting to some CVA guys (I <3 them secretely)

Just got back from the meet and oh my God was it awesome! Met a bunch of people I see on the IGS all the time (Rodj Blake, Evanda Char, The Cosmopolite, Verone, Kostantin Mort, Grr, Hardin, and a bunch of CVA! AWESOME! ). Did a bunch of shots with some Electus Matari and got myself hammered with Midnighter (who is officially the Hardest EVE Player Ever, as he can down a cup of salt with a lemon-peel chaser without grimacing OR vomiting), forcefed Vitoc to some Amarrians and generally met a bunch of awesome people.
The venue WAS very noisy and I found myself shouting into people's ears at some point and still not being heard, but I still loved the whole event and meeting people from Veto and EM was a really good experience. A+++++++ would go again.

Great night and nice to see everyone again.
Amazingly I actually remembered where I lived this time despite drinking some dodgy 'Vitoc' supplied by an equally dodgy Minmatar called Midnighter :-P
allgedly it contained a mix of Vodka and Ribena but if it did then Ribena certainly tastes different than it used to.
Nice to see all the usual suspects in attendance and nice to see some CVA allies along too :-)

Awesome meet as usual. Forgot to take the camera but hey hey.
Wasn't drinking (yay teetotalism!) but still managed to have an awesome time. Cheers to spiral for accomodation and to ichi, missboo, mindstar, steviesg, stoffer, eomar and jinx for the company going to and from the meet. Huge kudos go to everyone who turned up- it was an awesome turnout.
I do have to agree about the venue. Sound just needed turning the hell down :3
Oh, and a big thanks to various cva and other roleplayers. I think I finally understand you nutters :p

Had a great time, props to The Cosmopolite for coming to sit with the CVA blob, he was a little outnumbered.
Thanks to Verone for rolling my poster, you seemed to take great pride in making sure you rolled everybodys, also thanks for telling me to go to the pirate table where i stole a paper cutlass after spending what seemed like forever cutting it out (beer does not make scissors easy to use).
Was a good night and everybody was in good humor with no trouble other than on the way back when the CVA was ambushed by a lone drunken idiot (not eve related), but we stole his hat so its all good.

Ah yeah i bought one after you mate, they were crap.
Was a fun night, great to see alot of faces and poke a little fun everywhere. Never needed much excuse to get smashed and have a laugh. I was a bit like that...had a couple of cigarettes, 7/8 pints...but still was too shy. Guess being the youngest there is quite daunting

To the person who said too many people were just sitting in their corner: Teh noise was a massive issue, impossible to have a conversation with anyone further away than neck bite range. Also, the place was packed more tightly than Jita on a sunday evening (with random Eveless London carebears too). Moving about equalled use of martial arts. Not the best choice for a location, but the people and the overall atmosphere made very much up for it.
Speaking of neck bites... Meb failed to bite anyone. Requiar for next meet, mmkay? Or maybe he was just sneaky and did it when no one was looking.
Spiral, why are cookies not a valid replacement for hard uneatable coins? Next time let us buy raffle tickets with cookies!
Who was the pirate pair again (Jack Sparrow and the girl with guns?) Really enjoyed that chat, but the noise drowned out your names and I haven't put them together from the other info given yet. Was too embarrassed about being deaf to ask again.
Kehmor, the deal still stands... just requiar time. Your hat was very tempting to steal, but you're just way more scary than Verone!
Was also nice to have a more than 10 second conversation (unlike last time) with Serathu.
Last but not least, Mella wins the meet and he knows why.

Had a fantastic time. Thanks to Hardin and the CVA and other people for drinks, thanks to my corp mate Vegeta for putting up with me for a weekend, thanks to the Usual Suspects at the club (stav, shin ra, chowdown, tissa(sp?), capt rick, vegeta and the others) we ended up at, thanks to chowdown for not pulling a Pulp Fiction on me (a bit internal, but he'll know :), and to all the rest, of which some names I do remember and so I don't, I had a blast! Sorry to spiral for leaving you at the pub, won't happen again!

As ever, an enjoyable meet. Good to see so many from previous meets again and also some new faces.
Implanted playing with the band was great and talked to many people: Avon, Verone, Meb, Evanda (I wasn't bored), Mitchman (nice to meet an old foe from the old North), Grr and Haverloth, the CVA mob, Snakester, Andreus, Spiral, Kehmor, Randall from Paxton, quite I few others I can't recall offhand, so apologies.
