Seems that vid is a few years old. Are they still talking about it?

Wow, thats actually pretty cool. i didnt know about that. Visually its pretty cool, but practicallity wise, what purpose would it serve? unless there was some actual feature that required you to go into the atmosphere (planetary control or smtg?) it would just be liek another belt/planet/moon but with a different backgroudn (i.e just a fighting/mining/ratting spot)

Personaly, I think it would create to many problems.
ie, Crashing into the ground, or would you just bounce off
Flying aroud the world and flying out of the planets / moons atmosphere etc. Possible?
Eve is free flow. If u wanted to, you could fly from one planet to another without warping. creating graphic things for exiting a planet and actually flying around it.
Think about detailed graphic work required for the landscape. How many would be unique? And after all this, what would be its intended purpose?

Nice video indeed, but I'm sure there more urgent and intereseting features like Factional Warfare, for example.

Personally I don't care!
There is so much broken and useless content that I would like to see them fixed first and new (broken) content later.

Yes, they are still talking about planetary interaction, but only as a long range plan. Currently the buzzwords are "factional warfare" and "ambulation", both to be released some time around this year, hopefully. After that their next big target will probably be planetary interaction.

It's interesting, but as has been said it serves little purpose.
Someone mentioned crashing into the ground, I'm pretty sure they'd just set the collision layer to somewhere above the surface.
As far as I can see it would be an immersion thing, and probably be used in missions a lot.

Well I did a little digging, and apparently at that same vent people notice tools in the UI for colonization. Perhaps terra-forming planets and using them as a base structure.

this would be very cool but only if it actually served a purpose. like using small squads of interceptors to "paint" targets on the ground so battleships can hit them from orbit. first you would obviously need some kind of reason to even colonize a planet in the first place. moon mining on a massive scale? ubah pos? death star?

FFS ppl, stop remembering CCP about "new features". Let them focus on the actual bugs, we don't need something new that will make eve look nicer but it will still run like a crap.
