Hey, just found my first archeology site and all it seemed to contain was a bunch of wrecks with slightly higher take than normal on mission rats for rig components. Ill be honest and say that at this point I only have the skill (archaeology) trained to level 2 but are these sites really worth chasing, bearing in mind this was a 0.3 system. What are the top end rewards I can expect from such a site?

Wait until you do 0.0 arch and get t2 rig blue prints you can't even unload for 10mil on contract. LOL.. You get more parts and sometimes t2 parts from 0.0. I have 22 t2 rig BPC's and I CAN'T, not don't want, but CAN'T sell 'em. LOL. so I stopped doing archeology altogether. Plus I have about 10 caldari encryption methods and 8 launcher rigging skill books. LOL.

Hmm, previous poster should seriously consider a Lol withdrawal process.
Anyway, Archeological sites do need a boost in my views. I am quite fond of them, maybe just cause I am fond of finding T2 Bpcs.
You also occasionally have semi faction Pos Structures BPC (had a few "Angel" Pos Guns various sizes).
And then there are rig components. You get quite a few T1 rigs usually (in 0.0) and sometimes 1 / 2 T2 rigs components.
This is what i would boost a little. Having 1, maybe 2 if your luck is lucky is just not enough in these sites. I'm not asking for a mountain but a little boost of these numbers would be most welcome ...
And anyway, these sites are the one, more than radar, which give me the most exploration "thrill" ... hoping to discover a treasure one day in these space wooden chests.

Balancing ftw?
I never saw the point in 2-3 radar sites giving u the parts to build that 4-run ship interface bpc, while u need 50-100 mag sites to build 1 (ONE!!!) run of a damn t2 rig bpc... 
mag sites = epic fail, especially after adding encryption books to radar site loot table

I suppose it's "ballanced" by the fact the most T2 rigs won't sell. So by the time you find a BPC that's good you'll have enough salvage to build it.

No, it's not just you. Mag sites are generally worthless. In fact, a couple particularly bad mag sites are the only ones where you are *guaranteed* to spend more in probes than you get back in salvage parts.

the skill books are balenced imho i tried for weeks to get one from the deltole farm but the farmers there killed me everytime i got one.the books spawned there every 5 min.but the rats and locals made sure u didnt get out with them.they had nano vagas bump u into the rats ect.hell they are the reson u cant rep rats now .they would do it so u would die.but back on topic yeah the t2 salvage table blows.at 200 mill a rig you can bearly sell them.and you should get 300 mill for them tbph.

Mag Sites to not give the instant gratification that Radar sites can ( ISK wise ) but this is my take :
The T2 rig BPC you find in mag sites have 0 ME and 0 PE. WHich makes them very good in comparison to player invented ones which start with negative ME before decryptors.
I found 2 Capacitor COntrol Circuit II BPC and 1 Core Defence Field Purger II BPC last month ( among others )
With some scuplulous buy orders and using a small stock of T2 salvage, I produced all 6 rigs and turned myself a profit of nearly 350 million ISK.
IMO they are not all bad

You made 350 mil profit on 6 rigs that you had to BUY the parts for. IMO stop doing arcsal sites and just buy our t2 bpc's and buy parts with them you'll make more money for less effort.
My feeling with the arcsal sites has been and still is that the drop rates in them werent adjusted when they adjusted droprates for ships. Even then it's still missing the once in every 50 uber sweet loot drop radar sites have.
