Somehow earlier today, the 4 fiber optic underwater cables that connect Iran to the rest of the world were severed.
They currently have 100% packet loss http://www.internettrafficreport.com/asia.html

That explains why all the seeds for my "How To Beat Your Wife And Hate Westerners" torrent just dropped...
...please don't ban me, that was satire. Iranians individually are nice people. We shouldn't swallow what the media tells us they're like. ---- One day...one day General will be worth reading.

Sounds like the work of American submarines and Navy Seals. They do this sort of thing (they tapped into Soviet underwater cables often enough).
No idea actually but wouldn't surprise me.

It wasn't the Americans. The Iranian president had the lines ordered to be cut so that the population couldn't shop for birth control online.
They're planning on doubling their population within the next 5 minutes before we deploy on them.

A few days ago the cables across the Med got cut and Africa and Asia lost 75% of their bandwidth.

Incorrect. This was completely blown out of proportion by the Internet gossip machine; there is 100% packet loss to a single router at a single university in Iran.
Iran, as a whole, still has internet access.

So, you're saying that Dark Shikari is 3 inches from being a legally disabled midget? And that he is a Homosexual with a 30-years-out-of-style-mustache and a highly immature fan-base that out of the collective millions, not a single one has ever made even a remotely funny joke?

This one works. As does this. And this.
Even the website of the university with the non-pinging router is up: Linkage
Traceroute them; they're all located in Iran.
Its amazing how easily people believe sensationalist headlines.

The aim of politics is to keep the populace alarmed and clamorous to be saved by menacing it with imaginary hobgoblins. The urge to save humanity is a false front for the urge to rule it. |

But, but, if the call centres in India aren't working how will the people in Iran find out how to change their internet service providings to a provider that provides better service of internet service providings than their current providings? Internet Service Providings
