Every week in the Warp Drive Active PodCast Winterblink (The Canadian) and Urban Mongral (the Brit) will bring you the goings on in EVE (except for the stuff we miss, forget or deliberately ignore).
Warp Drive Active Podcast is part of the VirginWorlds Podcast Collective
Click here to listen/download Episode 27
Show 27, With everyone and his dog putting the boot into Band of Brothers at the moment, we decide to jump on the bandwagon too!
Yes times look Bad for the Bobbits, Despite slowing down their enemies they have still lost a ton of space, being out numbered 10-1 and loosing a a Nyx along with a ton of other ships, Goon swarm titans trespassing inside their POS bubbles. Its enough to make Sir Molle start acting Churchillian.
Not everyone is busy fighting BOB though. AAA and KOS are busy kicking seven bells out of each other, really for no good reason!
In Discussion point, EVE Moves to Steam. Seems like a good business to Us
We should point out that despite some peoples complains, you don't need Steam to download and Play EVE. You do however need it to play Portal and therfore you haven't got it already you should go and get it from here!
For Homework this week Urban would like you to check out the Astronomy Cast Podcast Its an excellent show filled with lots of excellent information about our universe.
In Addition check out some awesome websites. Firstly check out Massively.com especially the stuff written by the awesome Michael Zenke and in addition check Stratics especially the stuff from Dana Massey.
In 'What else have you been playing' both of the guys have been playing Burnout Paradise.
Join our GAX Group Pretty please with nuts on top!
The Fifth Alliance tournament is fast approaching and the Teams have been announced With a lot of rabbleage from many people including Urban. The tournament experts have also been announced. Have a great time in Iceland everyone!
Urban still hasn't got his EON Issue 10 hopefully next week!
Blinky has a competitor! Check out the excellent Far from Homeworld Comics. Great job ArmaggedonPSA and keep up the good work
Lead out tune 'Avenging Angels' by Space.
Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

3rd! Just fyi, I had some issues getting my end of the audio to Urban, which is why there's a distinct difference between our audio.
Not much difference than usual though, when Urban always makes himself out to be the nicer sounding one through the magic of editing. :D

I enjoy the Eve coverage - but Portal and Valve games in general bore the arse off me.
Have fun, fly safe..

There's plenty who play Portal and other Valve games who'd say the same about EVE. I'd disagree of course, but hey. :)
Still, there's a lot of EVE players who are into Steam stuff. I'll freely admit to playing a ton of Call of Duty 4, it's a great way to relieve after-work stress. :P

I have some bad news people. at 1 hour 22 minutes. When you get to talking about the far from homeworld comic. All of the noise suddenly stops until the Lead out tune :(
I wonder what happened to that part of the recording.

Seriously? Hmm. I'll make fun of Urban until he fixes that bit. Strange.

I wonder too. For now, lets blame monkeys.
Originally by: TimGascoigne Also the delay between recording and posting the podcast is significant as at the time you were wondering who in the AAAvKOS war was doing a better. but by now the end is pretty clear KOS are a thing of the past.
We recorded on Sunday, so it's not a huge delay. Then again we're humans with lives, so the editing process is not instantaneous. :)
Originally by: LaVista Vista Let me correct you about the nyx price. Its rather 15bill for the ship. You said 27bill. Thats almost 100% difference.
*adds you to speed-dial for ship pricing info* :D thanks for the correction

Edited by: DaiTengu on 05/02/2008 19:12:32 You guys had, by far, the best intro ever for #27.
As for AAA/KOS. It started with AAA kicking KOS's teeth in. A huge chunk of KOS were ISK farmers.
KOS then proceeded to fold and crumple like yesterday's newspaper.
Goons are horribly upset about this, because many of us had KOS scheduled to be first against the wall when BoB was dead :(
Edit: also, quit using BoB's killboard for everything. It's far from accurate, as none of their losses are pulled via the API (Kills reportedly are, but those have been iffy recently as well)

Sorry to hear that AAA took away your toys! still no matter, mentioning no names here, there are still plenty of people who require a good kicking in your neck of the woods!

When your talking about the BOB killboard, well until CCP provides an official killboard, wins and losses are going to be a constant source of argument. (In fact it probably will be even then!).
I stand by our general point however that losses are heavy on both sides but BOB's situation is looking bleak.

No killboard can ever be considered to be 100% accurate, which is why I usually make mention of how people should take killboard results with an appropriately sized grain of salt.
Anyway, short of being present for every engagement which happens around EVE, sometimes killboards are all there is to go on in lieu of pinning down someone who was there and asking them about details. And even then, you're still going to get issues with accuracy.

Another great introduction, the best so far. Good podcast as usual, however this one had more non-eve gibberish than most previous ones. I love to listen for the eve stuff of course and the homework assignments.
My suggestion is to cut some time off of those tangents.
More liquor enhanced podcasts please.

I'm half way through the podcast (no other podcast gets me to work and back TWICE!! Wow that's value for money.) And the other podcast I had queued up was ----- Astronomycast!! Pamela and Fraser are great - GOOD CHOICE!
If you haven't checked it out, do go find This Week in Science. (TWIS.) It may *sound* like a dishwaterdull "Scientific Journal" show, but it's got a chirpy host with a whacky sidekick. It's also deep enough in the science side to be interesting to scientifically minded amateur enthusiasts without going too far and making me feel.. well.. stupid.
Meanwhile........ keep at it you two heroes!!
