Nevermind the setups, I still don't understand what they're for.
Here's what I got so far:
- They need a cyno to jump to, so you need to sneak in a covert-ops past an enemy camp. - Once the cyno is open you can jump to that, and open a bridge, so that other covert-ops(and only covert ops) can jump to you?
What's the point of that, why wouldn't the covert-ops simply get past the camp on their own, they can cloak quite effectively. Not to mention you just snuck 1 past the camp anyways to open the cyno in the first place.
Seems like a colossal waste of ISK and time.

well if you use these properly then you can have a very effective gang. the whole point of a covert cyno is so the enemy doesnt know you are a big gang about to attack!! and if you all jump through there gates and cloak they know you are there... and will create a gang to counter you. whereas if you cyno in kill a few targets then cyno out .. they wont know where you are or have gone..
think about it...

Heres my take on things, the only way to truly fix the Black Ops Ships to do exactly as advertised. Black Ops Ships need to jump to systems exactly the same way as Elite/Frontier use to. That is to say, you select a system and click JUMP, you are then Randomly jumped into a position within the solar system you wanted to goto, assuming you have the range and the fuel.
Remove the need for cyno's, allow the black ops ship to drop a portal of some sort like it does now and ramdomly jump somewhere in the chosen system would give them exactly what they needed to do the job they were designed for.

Remove the need for cyno or allow all ships through bridge.
Than I'll think about it. ______________________________________

Guys, do somebody knows how to use the Cover jump portal generator? me and my corpmates struggled a few ours to work it out, but there is very little info about it. What I need to do to create a jump bridge between systems with it?

Well, I see a tactical purpose for black ops. We all know well how some of the key systems are camped a lot. And I mean, a lot, 23/7. Always with a scout in the "front" system. And they always run when you go to kill them.
Now. You send in a covert. It calls in black ops. With 20 recons/bombers. There was no warning from the campers scout, they are chatting and talking in TS. Maybe watching TV with one eye. Surprise. Before they understand what happened, they are in medical station.
*note* this is something I have not tried myself. But I have seen it happen. There's even a short fraps, I believe it was this http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/MHQ/Trinity.wmv (in the end part)

Well, there will be the element of surprise. When you jump in a regular gang through the gate, they know what to expect (scout next door). But if all of sudden the local jumps by 20 and the scout saw no one, in the next 2 seconds they find themselves in the middle of non-blues, the bail might fail :) Just wish there was a recon sphere launcher :P

have any of you people actually used black ops?
it seems not
they are great - its really no hassle getting a covert ops into enemy constellations (out of corp/alliance alt will do) and for targetted raids they are damned effective and fun
they dont need a boost or a 'fix' they need players who know how to use them properly

That being said, I wouldn't mind a -small- fuel bay, kind of like what you have with the corp hangers for Carriers. Would help immensly! I do love my Sin though!

Anyone used the Panther? Been wondering about this for doing some RADAR or even gas cloud harvesting in low/0.0 sec.

thank you to everyone who has replied, but by the sounds of it no one really knows what to do with these ships yet, so i will have to just experiment...

Black ops ships are uber if you know what your doing and you have freinds. If your thinking solo well spend the isk on something else.
Black op battleships Force Recons Loads of stealth bomber
= Best area defence that isk can buy.
Basicly if you have a Nano**** gang roaming around your area followed by a covert ops frigate with the thing abob cyno.
1.Nanofags engage camp and bubble. In cyno the stealth gang and brings on the pain. 2.??????? 3. Profit
