... someone in my family is a complete technophobic, completely imcompetent when it comes to computers, asking what does this happen, why why why when the OS asks..... for any user input realy, logging into email ect - I need to help.
When I asked why she had just left the iPod she bought herself just sitting there for 8 weeks, she said it was because noone had set it up. She got realy ****ed off when I facepalmed and asked why she had never given it a shot herself....
Bah - how badly did I*****up.... time will tell.

Gets better, the thing is locked up, it's a second generation Ipod nano (never used one myself) but I beleive I have found a flaw in the desighn. Where is the off switch?
It is locked on to a menu halfway from something to "now playing", has a list of tracks on the side.
Anyone know how to fix this crash? Browsing the Apple forums atm but if anyone knows thanks

Sounds like a plan!
Is there a little pinhole reset on it?

Those Californian bastards, this is how to reset it.
How much would it have cost them to have a 1/0 button on the side?

Do as I do ... claim I don't know anything about the stuff... and point to my friend and tell them to ask him instead !!! works like a charm every time !!!
Just because I got normal computerskills does not mean I am a expert on networks and printers... infact I hate working on others compters, what I do with my computer is okey, if I do something wrong it is my own equipment I destroy.

There's an easy fix to this.
Buy her a Zen Stone. They're ridiculously simple, AND they're not Apple products. ---- One day...one day General will be worth reading.

Wow...iPod Manual linky
To turn it off press and hold the Play/Pause button for a few seconds.
If the menus seem locked check to see if the "Hold" button across the top edge is on (it locks the controls). Just slide it to unlock it.
