Hi,
A bit fresh on exploration, but managed with bare skills to locate and access a combat site (unknow) and a hidden belt (grav)in less than 3 hrs, so far so good, seem even too easy.
My question is according to the guide who recommend not warping to the final signature, but parking your ship somewhere nearby. Right, I am not stupid enough to leave a fully fitted and rigged cov ops hanging in space... . But I cannot bookmark the signature, only if I jump on it, the last 2 signatures, I found an acceleration gate, so no danger there, I worry if I jump right in the middle of some nasties...I tried to go back to station to change ship but when I undocked, the signature and the probes where nowhere to be seen. So if I eject from a ship who can scan, in order to warp to the signature, I should loose the signals also?.
Did the acceleration gates are common or I was lucky?

If you change ships while in space, you'll retain your scan results. One idea might be to park a noob-ship somewhere to make that potentially risky warp to the site.
Personally, I've had few problems with my probing ship fitted with I-stabs in the lows. While in warp to the site, I open up the Places window and get ready to hit the Bookmark Location button. Click, Okay, run for it!, then come back in something more suitable.
It's only when I wasn't prepared did a rat get a few shots off at me.

you have cloak, use it. warp to 100km to cosmic anomallies, if you get uncloaked warp away!

Few sites will break your cloak if you warp in cloaked. And if your cloak does break you'll be able to warp away before anything targets you.
I however like to start my ship warping away, then make the bookmark while allining to warp. I worry about giving it a good name after I get out.

Warp to the sig, bookmark using People and Places or rightclick an object at the site and select make bookmark.
