Hello,
Since the trinity release I constantly have problems with chat windows (seem to be applying only to some of them - local and fleet in my case) loading up at random locations, not merged or merged with different chat windows. Same happens with fleet chat window when I join the fleet.
It getting extremely annoying that I have to manually move them in place all the time.
Not sure if its problem related - I have 3 accounts.
Operation system Windows XP SP2.

Exactly the same problem with both of my accounts (separate installs too).
Please, ccp, do something about it!

Same problem here, especially with Local window, it will randomly nest itself with my other chat windows without being asked to. Four accounts here.

Same problem here, but don't bother to bugreport it. You won't get any response. It would improve somewhat if you could bugreport ingame the same way as you do for petitions, and also it could allow upload the required (large) files. The bugreport system is completely broken atm so unless you are a mazochist, don't even try to send one. I could of course try again to bugreport that the bugreport system is bugged. Tried once, no responses at all, so it wasn't for my nerves. I gave up. I wish better luck to you!

Same issue, with Trinity Classic and Premium, two separate machines.
Local seems to be the big one, I keep that separate.

Same problem... two accounts... local often decides to go back to the main window stack instead of staying on the other side, and forgets the no icon +2 font size I set all windows to.

I like how you can't pin the combat log window at the top edge of your screen. Put it up there right at the top edge, pin it and log out. Log back and and you'll not only see the window moved down about 1/2" but you'll have a 2nd combat log window sitting ontop of the first one. Until you close one of them neither will work.
Oh, and let's not forget the annoying habit of the 2 fleet windows to randomly decide to drop themselves on top of my overview which then compacts itself down to just 2 lines tall regardless of where I had told the fleet windows to remain from that last fleet.
And lets be sure to include how sometimes your cursor forgets to change it's icon to let you resize window or active window buttons regardless of the pinned/not-pinned window status. Nothing worse than being unable to resize fonts or whatnot because the cursor is stuck in the wrong mode.
Whoever wrote the UI needs to be fired and replaced. The functionality and customize-ability of this UI is horrid, utter rubbish. It's junk and needs overhauled.

Part of the problem seems to be that it saves character sets under documents and settings > local programs instead of yea old place.
Someone was having a similar problem and someone else suggest that for your EVE link, in the target box, add at the end:
/end /LUA:OFF
This helped a bit. I copied the character data back into cache > settings folder in the Eve directory. Only occasionally do I have to muck about with my chat windows.
Don't know if it'll work for the combat log or other things. I still can't get it to remember my wreck box location/size hahaha. Oh well.
And as far as UI's go, EvE's is aesthetic if a little harder to handle now. Toooooons better than say, Anarchy Onlines

I'm using the /end /LUA:OFF option on 2 sepearte installs of EvE, and my chat windows are still all over the place.
It did it when I just had one install, and its done it on classic content and premium (to include premium with premium graphics off).
The rest of my settings seem to stick fine, but the chat windows do as they please. Haven't tried docking a combat log. ------------------------------------------- "The avalanche has already begun. Oh yes, forgot to mention it. Exactly same here.

UI design is a different story. Lets hope CCP at least fix the above mentioned bugs ASAP.

I highly doubt it is related to settings location. More likely there is a problem with reading/writing those dat files where all the parameters of your UI SUPPOSED to be saved. Also I dont think it will be any hard for CCP to pin down the problem by just looking into the codes.
CCP give us some feedback on this matter please.

Oh, and let's not forget that the fleet window now appears while you are in station and covers up the station UI.

Hello CCP???
This is getting ridiculous.
Here is another UI bug upon joining the fleet:
Overview is pushed up so the Selected item is outside of the screen
Tried to relog - it didn't help.
