Edited by: Tiona on 28/04/2004 18:32:26 I'd like to know if it would be possible to move a character from one account to another. I have a character that I would really like to skill train.

That's a bit pessimistic. Nothing's impossible. The data has to be stored in the same format for both characters so it's possible to switch one character from one account ot another one. It's jsut a matter of if they will let you. In order to prevent character-selling as opposed to account-selling, they don't have a system im place do do what you ask, but I'm sure if you made a petition or emailed the GMs that they'd at least consider it, providing you give all the details of both accounts and the credit cards theya re registered on (It'd be better if they were both on the same card for definate proof of ownership).

You'd have to contact support for that, email [email protected]. I don't know if it's possible or if they do it, but they're the only ones who can give you an answer.

Not possible at the moment I'm afraid. We asked the devs to do it for a GM a few months ago, but he ended up with corrupt character. Might be a time to look into it again though as we do seem to get more requests on this subject. /Cheers

Can't you just create a character with the same name/looks and the Dev's/GM's/whoever can give the necessary skillpoints/items from the original source?

I guess that would be possible but it would be VERY time consuming. IE My char has been around since day one. I have accumulated an awful lot of items. Would you like to be the database admin who has to recreate each and every item in the correct place? Sass Arcane Technologies |

I think that for items it should only be a matter of making a "new" character (that is a clone of the previous in appearance settings, skills etcetera), then make a query that sets owner to theNewCharacter where owner is theOldCharacter.
Dunno what D-base system CCP use though, so that's just speculation.
