Sorry for such basic questions but I searched around in the forum and couldn't find an answer.
Are all of the items on the EVE Market created by a player? Does the server itself ever generate modules/ships for sale or is every single module/ship/drone actually made by a real player and delivered to that station for sale?
Which brings me to my next question. The HELP channel was talking about T2 BPO (not BPC) and said they are no longer any T2 BPO available through missions. I don't know if this is true or not since I'm still doing lvl 3 missions. If there are no more T2 BPO being created how does the market get such a large amount of items like T2 drones?
I hope this doesn't frustrate some of the vets to this channel. I'm just trying to wrap my head around how the EVE market works exactly. I never seem to find T2 BPO on the market for sale either. Are those only sold under contracts?
Thanks for you time. Winter

Edited by: Erik Erikson on 06/02/2008 15:49:43 No not all the items on the market are player created. Named T1 items , Faction , Complex and Officer items are dropped by NPC's and can not be created.
The non named T1 items and all T2 items are player created. Cosmos Items are also player created
You can still create T2 items if you have a BPO but it's also possible to invent T2 BPC's using T1 BPC's

edit you can still get T2 BPO but you need to buy them , they are sold on contracts or in the sell order forum the lottery , the thing where they originally are from is dead for a good reason _______________________________________________ Mining Crystal II BPC Pricelist EVEpedia[Deutsch]

NPC stations sell basic items (T1, unnamed items, like Afterburner I). You'll notice these on the market because (a: they have some large preset quantity and b: players are usually also selling that item for cheaper). The player made ones are also more spread out. The npc made batches are in spread out groups. I don't think all items are made by NPCs, or if they are you may have to travel far to find it. Most of what you see is made by real people.
All T1 BPOs come from NPCs. I don't THINK they ever drop as loot.
Every T2 item you ever see if made by a player. Every "named" item you see is found in loot. There are also "faction items. These come from BPCs found in loot or bought from the loyalty point store at a station.
T2 BPOs used to be available through research agents. This was a lottery system. I don't know if this still exists or not (never did it). Now people can take a t1 BPC and some other ingredients and "invent" a t2 BPC. There are tutorials in invention that will give you more details.

Thanks for all the info guys. That made sense and clears up alot for me. Another question regarding Erikson's post: Can you create T2 BPC from T2 BPO? Might be an obvious yes but figured I'd ask.
So could I locate a player in possession of a certain T2 BPO and pay them to create a T2 BPC?

the problem with that is that copying an T2 BPO takes so much longer per run than producing an item , so not many will copy _______________________________________________ Mining Crystal II BPC Pricelist EVEpedia[Deutsch]
