This has been brought up time and again, after a weekend on tequila I finally managed to log in (extended downtime everyday?) and my corp has lost all but one of its labs (I had 19). I rented another one, and I lost the remaining one in the space of 4 hours. Could you either fix it so that the labs stay rented for longer or automatically charge for re-renting. All my slots were being currently used, and were paid for.
This needs looked at now!

How did you manage that? If they're unused for the entire period of a rental, they're lost. Given that the corporation screen shows both active jobs and rental periods, and the wallet shows pending bills for the corporation, you'd have to be totally incompetent or consistenly drunk to lose all your facilities.
Oh, I reread your post. You were drunk. What do you expect? |

How about a broader fix to the lab problem. And perhaps the office problem while we are at it.
1) Set the price of research labs to match that of factories 2) If all lab's, fab's or offices in a station are rented for a certain time, then either add more slots or upp the price.
Station are owned and run by corporations. It's time they start acting like that. Aka. maximizing THEIR profits.

I myself have lost 2 of the 3 labs I had. They were all paid up in advance, and all were running jobs that wouldn't finish for a month at least.
Definately something buggered. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!

I have had this happen as well - the only thing I could think of was that it was an indexing error ie really it was the adjacent slot rented by someone else that should have been cancelled for non-payment, or non-use, and not my corp's slot ...

Cm I spent along time aquiring the slots, it's not simply a case of being greedy I had 19 because I needed 19. Hell I could use more!
The slots in question were paid up, that I do check. Alot of the slots were on long jobs, such as ships and weapons. The point being why make it take so long to research ME if you can only rent a slot for 5 days if you are lucky and thing doesn't unrent itself. They shouldn't unrent unless you tell them to or can't afford the rental costs.

Exactly. From an in character point of view any sensible station manager would recognize increased demand and take steps to add more slots and up his prices to cover the expense of adding the slots. -- "I am an expert in not caring. Or better yet, hire out labs (and factories too while they're at it) on a job-by-job basis. So you only rent a lab for as long as the job in question will be running. The longer the job will take, the more it will cost (to make T2 research costly, like it should be).
Once the job is finished the lab slot automatically returns to the pool of available slots in that station.
And factories too, like I said.
