yes they are THAT short. if you're 1.70m (average height here in europe), and you go to japan, you'll be pretty much seeing a sea of black-haired heads in the street since you'll be like this tower, while everyone is 1.50m or 1.60m
Yeah, its highly amusing, though the average height is rising as diets change.
A friend I know went to Japan and found that she (5'8") was taller than most Japanese men

A significant proportion of men will read the quoted statement and think "Ah, ok! She's not trying to give me a hint or anything. That takes some pressure off."
Just assume that any male will completely miss any subtlety in any conversation. You have to (verbally) beat them over the head with what you want. Trust me, in the end this will be better for everyone involved.
EDIT: Sorry, but this happens to me all the time and it's confusing.

First off, I blame Eris for making me think dirty thoughts, all sitting here giggling like a pervert in my cubicle.
Second, I prefer short shorts over a bikini for 2 reasons.
A. It looks great on pretty much anyone, especially Daisy Duke.
B. I don't know about alot of ya, but I'm always seeing girls in bikini's picking their ass all the time. Either they picked up on one of mens disgusting habits, or their uncomfortable. Either way, it's a bit of a turn off.
Third. I don't know about a V-neck sweater but I absolutely go crazy over women in jeans. Although I did get a good show once with our recruitement manager at the main office when she bent over one day.
Four. What part of the freakin world are you in!?!?! It's freezing outside and your talking about short shorts and bikini's!

Well, I guess I'm going to have to be the fellow to call you on this. I checked Wiki, and therefore I know there are exactly four bikinis in the state of Idaho. I know you haven't seen the Idahoan bikinis, because they're always on tour in the Californias or New York. Idahoan bikinis are a rare variety and muchly sought after for fashion purposes.

Oh we got em. You wont see them at any lakes, reservoirs, or rivers however. Only places with money associated like our craptastic water park (we used to have a awesome one but the highway district tore it down).

For me ... the uglier they are - the more clothes they should wear.
The better looking they are - the less clothes they should wear.
So, given the choice between bikini's and short shorts, I'd choose to see a beautiful woman in a bikini or thong.
Which doesn't at all mean I don't like short shorts or cheer leader skirts. But what I'd really prefer is nothing at all - on a beautiful, athletic girl.
The important part - isn't what they are wearing - it's how attractive their face is and how fit their body.
A beautiful woman will look good in almost anything. An ugly woman's not going to look good no matter what you do.
One thing I've always wondered about though ... was what does Aura look like? If that voice model's face and body are any where near her voice ... she is drop dead sexy. But of course ... if she is actually some wrinkled granny ... I really don't want to know ...
