Ok, I started the game doing agent missions and then just kinda stopped and did other things like mining and stuff for the corp (you know?) I am currently using a level 2 agent with a quality of -13 and want a better one but can't find one anywhere, is there any easy way to find a better agent? I came out of the game half way through the tutorial and when I went back in it woudlnt let me re-start it, so I never compleated it.
What is the best way to find the best agent I can for me?

Info about the corp. There is an Agent sheet and it's sorted by the quality.

Edited by: Khemikal on 29/03/2004 17:39:36 Not sure if this is the easiest method, but here's how I look for specific agents:
1) Click on the "People and places" icon (2nd one down on the icon bar)
2) Set the search feature to "Corporation" via the pull down menu and look up the npc corporation that you want info about. click on the "i" and a window will pop up for that corporations info.
3) There's a Tab on the window that pops up called "Agents". This is a complete list of all agents that work for the npc corporation. They are sorted by Division, then level, then quality. You can then 'ey-ball' for an agent that is better than the one ya have atm and can plan which L3 agent you want to ultimately use.
4) When you click on the division headers, they will drop down to the agents in that division and there will be an indicator as to which ones you can use vs not use atm (due toe standing with that npc corporation).
5) My suggestion, make sure you have Connections trained to at least L3 and you will be able to use the L3 agents sooner.

The list of all NPC corporations is here:
http://www.eve-online.com/corporations/
On this site you will find some basic information about each corp. Most of it is not useful except that the "number of stations in number of systems" value can give you a general idea of how widespread that npc corp is. For example, Quafe is HUGE whereas Zero-G is tiny.
If you see a corporation that interest you search it in the in-game "people, places, agents" menu like Khemikal stated above. When you find look at the info on it, you'll see and list of agents available and where each is stationed. If an agent is available for your use then it will says so in the menu. If a particular agent isn't available, then the info screen of that agent will tell you want faction, corp standing, or personal standing you need to be able to contact that agent.
If you see an agent that is available and you want to start mission for that agent, just plot a course and dock at that agents station. He/she will be in the agent menu.
Remember that the higher the quality/level of an agent the higher the corp standing you need to access it. Generally I've found that a corp standing of 4.5 or above will generally give you access to the lowest Level 3's. The only way to increase the corp standing is doing missions.
Good luck,
ps) a lot of information about agents and standing is provided in the Mission forum sticky's. I suggest reading them because they are very helpful.
pps) Also remember that the larger the corp your doing agent missions for, the slower your corp standinig will increase. Smaller corps will increase standing faster. How much faster I don't know. There is a drawnback to using smaller corps though because if its too small they might not have any level 5 agents or R&D agents.

Is this the onl way to find agents!? Currently this is th only way i know how to find them without checking each station but isn't there a better way!?????
Perhaps region wide lists or a complete list based on distance from current location!? This kind of idea would be of better use in finding an agent based on criteria perhaps???
And I agree, the bigger the corp the slower the standings go, have been doing missions for carthum conglomerate and it's taking forever to get a lvl 2 agent let alone lvl 3, and thats with connections skill at lvl 2!!!! Plus the lvl 2 and 3 agents are no where near my home base!!!! sey la ve!

What's the problem with it? A complete List of all agents of a corp is the best way I could imagine. I mean, you want to do missions for a special corp or two. You don't want to do it for the nearest Agent. You should do missions for the same agents again and again (personal standing). So you look for the best agent you can use.
and btw: you can rightclick in that agent-list and say "Set Destination" so you can see how many jumps.
Concerning your lvl2/lvl3 agent problem: Do you have the connections skill? Train it at least to lvl 3.

I'm changing the "my agents" list on the map to show you all agents that are available to you. Should be easier to use.

Holly Molely Pap Smurf! thats fast acting! Many, many thanks, I know it's a small point and no ones gonna have everything perfect for them but that is one I find would benefit a few.
Wotok, I know what your saying but having to go through every corp (when some don't know how many there are, noobs! ok and a little bit me!!!) would/could/has taken a while. Having a list of agents available to you (and all npc corps have at least one!) means you have a quicker reference to ones you might wanna try, with quick access to their corp info.
With Agent missions most people wanna find an agent (with links to higher agents in same corp) that are in the local area of their home base. I'm not the only one needing to travel several jumps to visit their perfered agent but I wanna be able to quickly/easily find agents in the local area. So that when i find one i can do the standard daily mission and then get back to normal business without having to relocate (but i think i'm straying into research agents here!)
Like u said wotok, i know it's not that difficult to find agents and do work for them and I value the agents missions, I just don't want it to take over everything else I do! And when i find a good npc corp to work for it'll be nice to have a coloum for distace from location rather than have to destinate each one.
My isk worth with change back!!!
P.S. Papa, again thanks for that, can I ask if it will be the same sort of list as in the agents tab of the corp info or something along the lines of that with corp logo/name and perhaps distance!? (not trying to be pushy or annoying, which might be too late!!! .... oh, it is.... sorry!)

Any chace we could have a "show level 3 location agents" setting? When I'm out doing agent missions and I get a request to locate some scumsucker it can be a pain trying to find a near-by location agent.

Cant believe anybody has explained for the thread-starter how i am about to
Open your charactersheet, click standings.
Click info-button on the faction at the top, that you have the highest standing towards. Click membercorps. Pick a corp of your choice. Find the little thingy named 'agents'. Depending on which corp it is you should now be able to expand/collapse a number of 'divisions'. Within these division you will find a bunch of agents, some are available to you and some are not. For those you yet dont have available, click info-button and read 'agent info'. A bit down here it will say You need an effective faction, corp, or personal standing of at least X.XX to use this agent That means you need to work more for his Faction or Corp in order to use him.
Hope you get it and gl :) ___________________________ Chicks dig Brutor's |
