i've putted in my bpos to be copied in my labs in my pos and then i cancelled some of the jobs because i figured its best to keep inventing then my alt comes in and she can copy as well and i tried to put 1 of the bpos to be copied only 2 find out that the counter on the labs has remained as it was b4 i cancelled the bpos what i mean is that it still counts down as if the bpos are still on the coppying while they aint the bpo was sputted out, 1rst question does this ever have happened to anyone & 2nd how do i deal with this i've petitioned it but as you know petition sys is a little slow.

Edited by: Weirana Gatorna on 07/02/2008 10:43:22 If I understand you correctly, the problem you decribe is actually not an error. Cancelling jobs wont free up the slots. Any new jobs you put in que, will start as soon as the original (now cancelled) job is "finished".
I beleive it even says so on the pop-up that appears when you install the job (not sure though).

thats right Weirana it wont free up the slots and when i want to put a new work it will pop-up the msg that says that it needs to wait 4 how many days it is that i've putted b4 cancelling the copying. My probblem is while i actually have cancelled the work shouldnt the copy slot be free 4 usage again?

nope... it says there: "Note: the production slot will not... bla bla bla"
can you try putting the labs offline and onlining them again? that might work :) __________ Manufacturing whatever you need... |

Edited by: Jimmy Riddle on 07/02/2008 11:54:57 Yup that's the way its meant to be. Once you press that button to submit the job it takes up a slot in the lab for that specified amount of time. You can't free that slot simply by canceling the job. The only thing you can do is queue up another one.
Canceling just returns the bpo from where it came.
Edit: If you offline it and unanchor then all jobs are returned, and all slots are freed again . The only problem is that it effects all jobs that were ruiing in that lab .

This happens to a lot of people.
Unfortunately your slot is taken up until it runs out. The only ways to attempt to get around this are the following.
1. If no other jobs are running, unanchor and re anchor the lab. 2. Use another lab on your POS if you can. 3. Just put the print in the queue and let the days burn out so when it comes out of time your print goes in.
Not really sure on CCP's reasoning on this, besides making sure empire NPC labs can be screwed over so ppl can't 'reserve' slots with alts and 10,000 ME prints holding spots till their ready.
I don't think it should work this way on POS labs but their probably putting something like this very low on the priority list.
Hope it helps!

That's exactly the reason

The only way to forgo the job timer on a canceled job is to unanchor the POS module housing the research line. Unanchoring the module will reset all lines (which will also cancel all existing jobs operating in that lab).
The effect you're describing is an intended behavior. Be sure to read those pop-ups. ;) ------------------------------------------------- **** You're out of your mind!
