Howdy all. I've seen quite a few interesting ASCII characters in EvE, and I was wondering if anyone has ever compiled a list of cool character they've used in chats, bios, etc.
I've seen a Skull and cross bones, music notes, and all sorts of weird squiggles and symbols. I've even seen the Letter's E and V in the EvE Online logo style.
The only way I've been able to use these int he past was to copy and paste them for my own purposes, but if anyone knows the alt+numbers required to type them in manually, I'd love to see that list.
Someone help, and I'll love ya forever! Peace! :) _

To clarify, the Character Map application will show you what the Alt- combination is for any of the symbols.

sometimes people type symbols in chat, they can see them, but I can't - it appears as a square, just like if a font didn't support that character. What font does Eve use?

ASCII is not responsible for all those strange characters, Unicode is.
ASCII is a 7-bit American letter system that contains only characters and symbols native to their nation. Unicode is a 16-bit international letter system that contains a lot more than just the American letters, and that is the standard eve probably uses.
You can read up on it here if you like: ASCII Unicode
