Mission briefing The famed Dr. Lamia Calus is one of our top nanite research specialists. She has entered a requisition for 47 units of Green Arisite for her research. If you can procure this mineral, I'm sure you'll be adequately rewarded. I have coordinates here to a mining site of ours where a bit of this rare substance can be found.
Green Arisite is related to Gneiss, which is itself rare and is typically found only in low-sec space; pirates and mercenaries of all stripes are often found in its vicinity. Don't go out there in a defenseless mining scow.
Green arisite returns no results in search--is this a genuinely new ore or just a renamed mission contingent ore?
What's the coordinate of this like--does it drop me in a belt or a little deadspace pocket? If the latter what is that ridiculous disclaimer all about...

It's a mission specific ore. You need to have gneiss on overview to find it.
There are hostile npcs in the spot where the green arisite is.

The Lvl 4 mission warp point drops you 43km from the Green Arisite roid. It's best to enter the mission with a frigate, AB to the asteroid and BM, then return in your mining ship. The remaining roids are Veldspar. The only rats I encountered are of the normal belt variety and, in two instances, I encountered nothing.

When I did that mission, there was tons of normal gneiss and omber around, and one asteroid of green arisite.
And loooots of rats at first. And more spawn once you start mining.

This was in lowsec or highsec?
Finding gneiss in 0.7 would be a macro's wet dream. :/

Edited by: Dr Saitek on 08/02/2008 04:32:19 My missions are in a 0.7 system. I'll need to check my overview to see if that's the issue.

Had this the other day when I did a mission due to boredom (not done any in over a year). Anwyay, it was for caldari Navy under command I think. It was in a 0.5 system IIRC. You have to clear the rats out first (so take a combat ship) then mine 43 m3 of the mineral. There was only one small roid but some other gneiss roids. Nothing amazing. Got on my t1ts as I don't mine, ever, and I only wanted 1 mission not a bl00dy 7 step effort..
Hope that helps

I got this mission in highsec, forget where exactly. I mined all the asteroids, there's only about 2000 units of gneiss, plus some omber. I don't think the asteroids would respawn since it is a mission rather than a proper asteroid belt.
But yeah, there shouldn't be so many asteroids in missions, esp. not valuable ones.

I got this from an Amarr Navy agent, level3, forget exactly which division, but it was security, internal security or command.

That's a bit strange as the level three version has three or four waves of mercenary commanders and support frigs.

It's a new mission, Cal navy has been mentioned, Imperial Navy offered it to me so it may be safe to say its not exclusive.
Also the low sec disclaimer is a little misleading too as it sent me to a high sec system instead of lowsec. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

I'm running them for Republic University. I don't have any plans to submit a bug report since I'm only interested the personal standings increase to get a jumpclone for an alt. Besides, it would be a pain to clean out a BC or cruiser nest before sending the Hulks in for the mission ore.

You never heard of 'right click' on roid 'n' bookmark. NO need to AB to the roid dude.

No, this is the first time I ever heard about it. I'll test it out in the next mission and revise my suggestion accordingly.

I did this mission for Peace and Order unit. The Gneiss(sp?) was small, and I was in 0.6 system. Rats died easily as well. Even though the roids were small it was basically some free zydrine so not all bad.

First back to the original question--the ore is only for this mission--u can't find it newhere else. This 7 part mission gets very difficult if u don't have a passive tanked ship--see the multiple threads concerning this mission... Be sure to go to the mission survival guide site before starting each portion of the missions. 5 of 7 is very difficult if u don't handle it right or if u use an active tank
