Don't look into the sun. it's bad for you. --------------------------------------------

This should be in the known issues and workarounds forum. But I'm running a GeForce FX 5200 with the Omega 55.03 drivers, and the sun doesn't show through anything. It works as it should here. ----- I have taken all knowledge to by my province. - Sir Francis Bacon science & technology news

You might wanna try to download the lastest nvidea driver for your card (if you hav a GForce one that is).

Hey guys,
The sun shining through planets and such is a graphic setting in the EVE control panel. If you have it selected, the sun will be occluded by objects.
I found this because i kept trying to run 2 copies of Eve on the same computer, but one copy kept crashing to desktop. The fix was to uncheck the objects occluded by sun box in the settings.
Now I can run 2 copies, but the sun shines through everthing.
To recap, check your settings and make sure the box is checked

This setting is made in-effective by some drivers. From what I understand nvidia drivers are infamous for this. You might be able to try an older driver (I've heard 53.03 recommended) but if you do downgrade drivers be sure to un-install the new driver before you reload the old one.
