Right, so how do I turn this on? I have a 8800 GT XXX 512mb if it's of any help.
I searched the forums but eveyone talks about some obscure "prefs.ini" file in an even obscurer "cache" directory, none of which even exist at all anywhere on my hard disk, trust me I did lots of searching. Any ideas?
Thanks

Edited by: Bambi on 08/02/2008 14:56:15 your cahche dir does exist, but if your using vista its probably hidden from you cos M$ dont think you are grown up enough to look at your own files.
Check in Documents & Settings/username/app data or somewhere like that, cant remember the exact path off the top of my head.
Prefs.ini is redundant since tirinity or so I belive.
As to AA I belive you can only get it working if you have HDR enabled.

I'm running XP and there's no such folder or file as any of those anywhere. There's a whole sticky thread in this very forum about it, but it's from 2004 lol. You'd think they'd update their info :p

You could try forcing it on in your NVIDIA driver settings. Right click the desktop, then "NVIDIA Control Panel." Go to "3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings." Change "Antialiasing - Setting" to your preference.

Exit the game and go to "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE" if you are on Windows 2000/XP and "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE" on Windows Vista.
However it's pretty pointless since there's no aa setting, although you can fiddle with one or two useful things, like saving you password in the client, changing the port etc. It's a hidden folder so you'll need those on in xp, in vista youll need those on and you'll need the correct access rights (oh the fun) ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

Edited by: Chetree on 10/02/2008 23:09:16 Forcing it in the Nvidia cpanel doesnt work, you need to get nhancer (www.nhancer.com), set it to 4x MSAA and activate AA compat (00000005 worked for me, the second one). HDR and AA don't go well together on nvidia cards.. for some reason.
Note that it slows your game down pretty much when in fleets, I have a 8800 GTX, with 4xAA 16xAF i got down to like 30-40 fps in a 20man fleet. :/ So I turned both anisotropic and antialiasing off again. Rather have a good framerate than some extra eyecandy.
