Guys. You know Wrangler is right in closing off new threads that are talking about that 'pirate group never to be mentioned again'.
We need to stop putting all this effort into talking about pirates because:
1. All we are doing is stoking their little egos. The fact is, that allthough the 'pirate group never to be mentioned again' is powerfull they are a localized event. I've let myself fall into the trap of getting carried away with the arguments. The truth is, they are at the other side of the galaxy from me.
2. We all know where they are, so why the hell try to run through their system. I certainly wouldn't.
3. People are actually discussing tactics for dealing with them on the forum. STOP IT. All you are doing is giving out information as to possible weakness's so that they can sit back and think about ways of plugging the gaps. If I had an idea to get the better of pirates, I'd discuss it in game only with the people I'd need to help me with it. Then, let the pirates know about it when you use it on them.
4. If you feel that somebody is using unfare tactics, exploiting the game, send in a pertition. There are formal channels for doing so and if everybody uses them, then something will happen. The forums though good for sounding off and letting off steam are probably the least effective way of getting a problem brought to the Devs attention.
5. Now after the last point. I would like to suggest that a dedicated Pirate Activity Report forum might be useful. Not for *****ing, but for giving out the locations of pirate activity and warning if the reported pirates are PKer's or ship destroyers.
So come on guys, stop feeding their egos, giving them useful information, keep those contact reports brief and to the point, and everybody, shout 'Foul' directly to the GM's that's what they are there for.

Not letting us mention the CA ever again is a little harsh, it's not exactly a small area they lay claim to either.

why does everyone say CA is pirates all the freakin time - all we do is kill anyone who tries to come into the space we claim - you wouldn't let someone drive their car into your yard and dig a hole in it ... same as mining ...

You also have corps that declare war on corps that have absolutely nothing to do with CA or are based any where near ya.
Tis ok, we like to fight alot. We are pirates. The irony in it all.
