I have four R&D agents working for me. All agents are Gallente level 4. Three are for a skill that I have trained to level 4, the third - Plasma Physics - I only have tried to 3. I usually run the missions for all four agents daily.
For some reason, I have a 2x multiplier applied to my RP/day for the Plasma physics agent in addition to the 2x from running the mission. The RP/Day in my journal reflects this multiplier. There is also an extra little field under the agent's info called RESEARCH FIELD BONUS. None of my other agents have this.
I took a screen shot here. Note the much higher RP/day for plasma physics. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2062/2253669009_9828132216_o.jpg
Has anyone else had this happen? How did I get the field bonus?

You get more RP/day for Plasma Physics, but each datacore costs more than 50LP compared to Mechanical Engineering. So it pretty much evens out. Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes, ty. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Ahhh, so they are like the starship engineering skills. I had not encountered any others that did this. Strange that CCP kept the old system in place. |

Probably they think that thousand of players would petition if they cut starship engineering RP production and accrued RP to 1/3 and put datacore cost for starship production to 50. (and the same for the other fields with the x2 multiplier)
I suspect that there would be plenty of clueless player with datacore farming alts that would cry a river don't getting that they would lose nothing.

Anyone with a bigger RP stockpile would get a far bigger payout if they dropped the cost of datacores in that field to the same as in other fields. The stockpile would have accumulated twice as fast.
I'm sure I could phrase that better, but it's Monday. |

Well, if you look at starship engineering with it's 3 * multiplier, they could easily divide al RP's by 3 and give the starship engineering the normal multiplier. The main problem is the people who will petition that they have suddenly only a third of there RP's left.
BTW, i never understood that multiplier. When the T2 lottery was still active this gave everybody 3 * as much RP's, but if you give everybody 3 * as much tickets the odds of winning are exactly the same as if they would all have normal RP's (a chance of 1 in 1000 is exactly the same as 3 in 3000)
