Edited by: Silverlancer on 30/03/2004 14:47:45 I've heard complaints about hauling huge amounts of minerals. So this is my Really Insane Guide for the Lazy People who Hate Using Indies for More Than One Run (TM)
Step 1: Get a few Passive Targeter (I think, this is the item that uses like 12500 trit, right?) BP original and research them to a decent ME. 10 or 20 at least, 100 if you have time.
Step 2: Get a few manufacturers together with decent industry and PE skills. Have them all manufacture hundreds of Passive Targeters using the blueprints. (With 5 builders, each using 5 slots, you only need one day to finish the building).
Step 3: Go mine more trit while you're waiting. You're already saving yoruself 50+ indy runs, so you might as well use the time to your advantage.
Step 4: Grab those 5000 passive targeters, load them onto an indy (or two if you have crap expanders), and bring them the 20 jumps or so you need. Then reprocess with near-max or max refining skill.
No more worries about hauling trit! Who needs an interbus anyways?
BTW, you can do this with Pyrite too... just use Small Hull Repairers!

Thought of this - uses 12,500 trit . Minor problem, I thought passive targeter was one of the missing bp's .

Yeah... didn't they fix those a few weeks ago though?
Also, you can still use Small Hull Repairers, so...

Heard about a guy (a REALLY) good miner who used the same scheme to transport his minerals from (deep)0.0 to empire. Only he didnt build passive targetters or such. He just built apocalypses.
If only the scrapmetal skill was available and active...

Edited by: Titan AE on 30/03/2004 16:14:48 Yeah, with perfect refining skills (5/5) and enough faction to get no take from the factory your at you can refine a Arma BS for 2.25% loss on original mineral value. Arma is the only one I have tested but I assume it would work with others too.
Its kinda strange though I'd be very tempted to take my minerals out to a very risky area where they might fetch a better price. So far I have never used this, I find its more expedient to just sell the ships and have spares floating around to replace the oddball lost BS.

I wouldn't have thought so - people have been doing this for a long time and its "well known".
