Hy all,
This is the question...
Once I fited a Claw with 2 Aux Thruster I and I noticed a very small increase of speed, since I was not satisfield I just sold the ship.
Then recently I was fiting a new ship (mammoth) to use as salvage ship and I fitted again 2 of this mods and again I become displeased with the result.
The description say: "Penalty: Using more than one type of this module or similar modules that affect the same attribute on the ship will be penalized."
So I understand 2 things here: 1st - stacking 2x auxiliary thruster will get a penalization 2nd - adding other modules that causes the same effect like Overdrive Injectors will also get a penalty on speed.
My understand of PENALTY: the math is reduced to not allow full performace of the stacked modules. BUT I dont understand that penalty involves complete anulation of one or more modules - THIS PART IS IMPORTANT.
Ok back to the ship and to make it short...I stacked two Aux Thruster and it gave me nothing more then 194 top speed. I thought it strange and to make things clear I bought another mamoth and activated it in order to have my skills applied to it and the final speed was 177. Now the Aux Thruster give 10% more speed. 177+10%=194,7
I even tried to fit some Overdrive Injectors in the ship with the rigs and the speed really upgraded.
CONCLUSION: Stacking 2 or more Auxiliary Thruster WILL NOT WORK AT ALL not even work with penalties.
I would like to know about you guys and girls, what you think and your experience with this kind of fitting, if I am correct or if I am just leaving something pass.
I KNOW I CAN USE DIFERENT RIGS TO GET MORE SPEED BUT THAT IS NOT THE FOCUS OF THIS POST. So please lets keep on the subject.

I disagree with your findings. I went ahead and checked this out and the following is what I found after starting from a base ship, adding aux thrusters I and then Overdrive Injector IIs.
Ship: Raptor - 518 Base Speed Sitting in it - 570 1 aux thruster - 620 2 Aux Thruster - 715 2 Aux + 1 OD - 794 2 Aux + 2 OD - 845 2 Aux + 3 OD
Ship: Raptor - 518 Base Speed Sitting in it - 622 1 OD - 730 2 OD - 814 3 OD - 837 3 OD + 1 Aux - 845 3 OD + 2 Aux
The stacking penalty does exist but using two of the same type does not cause one to stop working completely.

Dont understan why but this is indeed happening with me. I came to the test server and simulated exactly what I have done. I bought a mammoth and the initial speed was 177 then I added 1 Aux Thruster which gave me 194! Then I added another one and got 211 and finally the third slot ended with 223.
But the weird thing is that in the play server I have 2 Aux Thruster that give me the same speed as with one only rig!!!

doublecheck, clear cache, wait til after downtime, dock & undock again, and after you done all those, check again.
and then, if necessary, bugreport.

I bet you're fitting cargo expanders on it on live server, and not on test?

Thanks. Exactly the info I was looking for. Was wondering if aux. thrusters would add anything over the 3 t2 O.D's on my claw.
