I just installed a new copy of vista ultimate, for some reason it comes with dx10 even though it not supposed to be ready yet..zzzzz
in station graphics are fine, but in space i get black boxes around any light source, huge clusters of boxes around inspace objects making it impossible to actually see what your doing.
Is this a direct result of dx10 ( got the newest drivers bleh bleh)and if so is there a way to go back to dx9 without reformatting the comp to xp?

Vista = DX10 XP = DX9
So no chance getting back without formatting and installing XP.

Stop posting please.
Go to <Program Files>\CCP\EVE\bin and execute RedistD3DXOnly.exe. It will install DX9.
DX9 and DX10 are perfectly working without interferring each other under Vista.

Most likely it have nothing to do with DirectX (EVE won't even start without DX9 installed btw). Download latest graphical card drivers, uninstall drivers that you have installed now and install new ones.
