Check out EVEMon and Eve Fitting Tool :)
Everyone has their own strategy/tactics/preferences, so you might want to find out what you want. Also, check out the Ships and Modules forum here, it contains usefull info.

Depends on what kinda of combat.
For a mission runner you might want a passive shield tank.
I use x3 Shield Recharge Purjer Rigs.
Lows: x6 Shield Power Relays
Mids: x2 Large Type-2 Shield Extenders, x1 AB, x2 Shield Resists (mission specific).
Highs : x1 Drone Link Range Augmentor x5 Artillary/Auto Cannons
I recently changed that set up by replacing x1 Shield Power Relay with a Power Plant for extra Power Grid in the lows and then added a 3% Power Grid implant giving me enough PG to fit x5 720mm Scout Artillary in my Highs.
Does very nice support damage for my drones.
P.S. This set up comletely NERFS your capacitor so you pretty much have to stick with artillary/auto canons as they use No CAP, nor do "surprise" Drones. It also makes you almost totaly immune to Energy Neutralisers as the only thing you use CAP for is the AB.
