Folks playing Freelancer may know of this ... whenever you fly around populated areas, you get background radio chatter, stations requesting IDs of ships, their cargo, escorts and their carriers talking to each other, etc.
While there isn't as much AI in EVE as there is in FL for obvious reasons ;), it'd be nice to get an aural cue that you're in populated/empty space in this fashion.
Yep, I know it means recording voices, increasing downloadable size due to the voices, perhaps hiring external people for more voices, and an overall hassle that CCP may not wish to do :D This is a wishlist though, so I'm wishing :) -------

Its already there...
I was blowing up Guristas with my music off and full bass on my sound system. And in the lull between my guns going off you could hear the deep throated chatter(untranslated Caldari???) between them. Of course its only a sound bit but sounds kewl -------------------------- Vist the Jericho Fraction Forums

That was awesome about Freelancer, and I completely agree with you that it should be in the game. All we need is a game that combines the immersiveness of EVE and the action/cosmetic touches of Freelancer, and that would make the coolest game ever.

Just look at most pirate ships and move your camera close to them... you will hear scrambled signals. This will also be heard if they get close to you.
There is also some sound in the stations... some stations have garbled announcements and conversations.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |
