Say I have items to sell. I transport them to a system and post them for sale on the market there. Since no current buy orders exist at the going market rate, I click into the advanced tab and post them at the current regional average, and set them to be available for some time, say, 30 days. Then I leave and return to my main base of operations, let's say, 20 jumps away, well out of the region where the goods were posted for sale.
Are special skills required for my sale to complete?
I've read through a couple of the skills related to remote trading and wasn't completely sure if they applied to this scenario.

Once the sell order is set up, it'll keep running for as long as the time set for it hasn't run out. After the order is set, you can go anywhere and the order still keeps running.
Now, I'd say go for 90 days since there's no cost difference between 1 day and 90 day orders. (no sense in limiting yourself needlessly)
The remote skills would be needed to set up, or alter buy/sell orders remotely. Without those remote skills, you'd have to dock in the station you wish to set up (or modify) the order at. _______________________________

Since you can cancel your order anywhere in the universe, there is really no point setting less than 90-day duration.
anyone know how to put a horizontal bar here?

I've often wondered why the default isn't 90 days, or even why there are options. The number of times I've accidentally put an order up for 24 hours accidentally is staggering. Surely putting orders up for 1 day and returning to them the next is adding to lag. Orders sitting in a database for 90 days must be a better solution.
just my 0.02 ISK worth.
