I have 3 characters on one account and i tend to flick between them quite often for multi region trading etc. I find im having to log out all the time to change character. Is there a quicker way to get back to the character selection screen as im already logged in, i just want to swap characters.

Get Buffy to do it - failing that, Angel might be willing to lend a hand as long as you tie up Wesley for a bit of "interrogative fun".

There should be a quicker way, I agree. All other MMOs manage as well.
Sounds like a small fix with a lot of difference in terms of convenience. |

Get 3 accounts, one for each alt. Launch EVE 3 times. Use alt-tab. New to EVE? Don't forget to read: The Manual * The Wiki * The Career Options * and everything else |

Transfer 1 alt to each account...
When I have alts on same account I want to log into quickly I open multiple instances of Eve Online, then without logging out or closing original instance log into the second. It saves about 15 seconds from the log out/log in process. |

This reminds me of a tactic BOB used to do where they would have a secod client open at the character select screen and if they needed to gtfo quick they would log in their alt, making their currently active character vanish instantly. |

And what if you have 15 characters over 5 accounts? :3 Large volumes of highly researched Ammo, drones, charges and ship bpo's. Biggest BPO store in EVE! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=445524#post445524 |

Opening a second client and logging in to the same account will immediately disconnect the first client. Leave several instances of the game open in the background for slightly faster load times? |

That's a really dramatic avatar you've made. Quite impressive!
To answer the OP...
If you want fast switching you pay for the convenience by having multiple accts open at the same time. CCP is not going to make it any easier to play with only one acct any time soon. Why would they?

Your character doesn't vanish immediately, in my experience, it now behaves as if it were properly logged off. Sometimes I can catch an alt sitting at a POS shortly before disappearing, and if the characters were switched in space, not at POS, I can still see the previous char's ship on d-scan for a bit if in d-scan range of the logoff point. I've thought of trying to find out what happens if you aggro the logged off character, presumably the logoff-aggro rules would apply, but haven't bothered to test. |

I have two accounts. I can get a character from my second account to scram my alt (on this account), then switch to Petrus and blow up my alt. What joy! Instead of logging us out just auto-login to the character selection screen. It can't be hard to code we just need enough people to request it. |

It's one of those overdue features that has been requested for years, like proper Amarr drones and proper missile graphics. Fat chance it'll happen. Sorry. It would be nice wouldn't it. One of the tedious aspects of the game. |

It's not true. It used to be true and now it's an urban legend. How do I know? I tried it recently (yesterday), and I have 6 EVE accounts. Your ship will still hang around for a minute or so on dscan even if you log in another toon on that account. |

Yeah CCP needs to realize they are not selling "batches" of 3 accounts. They are selling time on the training queue. They should allow you to train all your toons on an account - for 3x the monthly fee. 2 toons for twice the fee. Because people do this anyway, except they just have to open another account to do it. And of course make it easier to swap in and out of toons on a single account. |

If you could price "character slot" and "training queue" that would be nice.
People who use their other two characters for say Plantary Interaction or datacore farming (or market or forum alts) would be aware of the use of this. Train a titan character, but put in two weeks and get PI alts free~'
EDIT: One could also consider supercap holding alts I guess. Or scouting/cyno alts that are supposed to fit into alphaclone. Or alphaclone ganking alts. Take all the tech Build all the titans Drop all the POSes

it used to work but it caused problems with corrupt caches so it was removed. the logging in with alt no longer works and has not for a long time but that is the fastest way of changing characters on one account http://eveboard.com/ub/419190933-134.png
