In 1415 (chaos), the map does not finish loading. If you close the loading window and try again, you will get the map control panel but no map--the control panel can not be closed except by clicking the X.

I also get this on TQ, however I only seem to get it in systems with player controllable stations.

*Well the same is on TQ i saw this problem yesterday.
Also all my Gates where invisible and stations to.
I just saw the flash from gates when someone was jumping.
Hope they fixed this quick its a *b* to play without.

SOLUTION:
This "map not opening glitch" has happened to me a few months ago. Its easy to fix. All you have to do it delete your cache in your Eve folder. Just navigate to where you installed Eve, and there is a folder called "Cache". Simply delete the entire folder and all its contents and the Map loading problem is fixed.
Downside is that you have to reset all your preferences and reload all the portraits you have looked at. Deleting your cache also takes away your bookmark folders, so you have to go back and make new folders etc. Dont be surprised when you get prompted before you attack something as well. All in all, it is a simple, quick fix to most glitches in Eve (bookmark glitches, map glitches etc) but a pain in the ass resetting all your prefs.

I have deleted my cache, even reinstalled. This is a bug with the build.

U dont need to delet the whole cach.
Leave SETTINGS dir that will save Contact like Agents and bookmarks etc.
Leave Perf.ini dont remeber why :D
Leave the portraits if u dont want to lose all the sexy gurls you encounterd during your space travels.
I did that yesterday and it work fine :D
Tho i still dont see the billbords ( i see the bord but not the pic in it.)
CCP told me to upgrade the drivers to avoid CTDs well it helpet with the ctds around 80% but it meest up the billbords. :/
