I was actually THIS close to buying the Xbox just so I could play this one game. So glad I held off and trusted my instinct. Ok, that's incredible news, i was so bummed out by not being able to play that Bioware RPG because it was "Xbox 360 Exclusive" (and the Mass Effect forumites were snobbishly reminding everyone it would stay that way) So i'm very happy they're releasing a PC version, now if its a decent port i'll be even more pleased. Please excuse me while i go spam this all over the Mass Effect Boards edit: ok, it already got spammed all over their forums, and they created a seperete set of forums already. Ah well, still awesome news.

But I said no, it's not worth it if it's coming to the pc, I'll wait a while and see. I just saved $400. Woot! And by the time I finish Mass Effect hopefully Dragon Age will be finished. The potential profits that they would gain from the PC gaming community are too large to pass up. Just have to make sure it does well before they go through the trouble.

I thought one of their selling points of the XBox to developers was the ease with which games could be ported since at the root of it all an XBox works a lot like a PC. Developers then would presumably be happier developing for it since they could make even more money selling on Microcrap run computers too. So why is Microcrap trying to keep this away from everyone else? Because they want people to shell out $00 to play one game?

But i was browsing the bioware forums parallel to EVEs and well, i ran into those screenies. I just had to post them, and your post was a convenient anchor to attach them too.

Mass Effect Any game made on the Xbox360 that can turn a profit will be ported to the PC. The Xbox360 programming was made specifically so that it could be done with ease to and from a PC. The aim of politics is to keep the populace alarmed and clamorous to be saved by menacing it with imaginary hobgoblins. The urge to save humanity is a false front for the urge to rule it.
