You're ready as soon as you get bored of PvE..
Though I envy your level 5 Frigate skill, I keep failing to stick to training mine up. =-(

Well anyone can be a pirate from day 1, but being a good pirate takes time to learn the ropes and gain SP. That being said here's a few thoughts.
-Seeing your Minmatar get ALL gun skills to lvl 4 minimum. Then start working on getting T2 small AC as the damage factors jump considerably from T1 to T2.
-Depending if you want to fit missiles get those skills up to 4 as well (kudos on missile launcher operation at 5).
-You've got lvl 5 in frigs. Good for you. Get about 7-10 rifters, equipment for them, and move to low sec next to a high sec system (look for a busy system, this takes some research). Here is where you're going to start cutting your teeth and learning the ropes of PvP. You will loose ships so get used to that idea, but thats ok since you're learning.
-Work on Hull Upgrades to lvl 5 and shield management to lvl 4.
I would also advise you to not get into a ship until you're at least lvl 4 in that class. Also do your homework when it comes to setups. There are many threads out there so evaluate them and test out , what you feel, the better ones are. Eventually you will get a feel for what works best.
Again, you could start learning piracy with your current skills, but if I were you I'd move the above skills up high on your priority list.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of trying out Rupture piracy. But alot of people have said that rifters are better to start out with. So I'll try that out.

The Rifter is the smart way to go. As I stated you will loose ships and replacing a 250K ship is a lot less painful than one that costs 5-8 Mill, and thats not counting modules.
Upgrade your equipment to T2 as you can, as it will pull you through some close fights. My motto is you can equip to compete or you can equip to Win.

train ur gunnery skills ASAP
their awful atm
dont use anything larger then a stabber/rupture main ship should be a rifter til ur gunnery skills r up. Find a pirate or anti-pie corp to teach u the ropes. If ur in the metro area and want one gimme a buzz

u wont be dissapointed with a rifter trust me.
just pick your targets well, and you'll most likely win.
i've done most of my pirating in rifters so the potential to go out and do some major pwnage is there.

Personally I find the mentality with which you engage an opponent often has an effect on the out come. Basically, go into every fight believing you're going to come out on top and you may be surprised.
