Hi there!
i searched for this topic with google and this forum. As far as i can see, I need diplomacy on 5 to get from -5 to -2 unfortuantelly i'm at effective 5.8. Is there a way to push angel Cartell faction while shooting any other faction? I'm minmatar i would hate it to shoot my owne faction but is there another pirate faction i can shoot? Probably against Mordu's Legion Command? If yes, where exactly (what region) do they sit in?
Kind Regards

Shooting another faction will not raise your standings with anyone.
The only way to recover your standings with the Angel Cartel is to work for one of thier allies.
If you have a base standing of -5.0 with all of their allies (which is actually most probable) there is no way to restore your standings with the Angel Cartel until CCP changes the game mechanics in some way.

get a fried with good standings in a gang, do missions with him, when he finishes there is an option to finisha mission along with the gang, you split reward and standing increase

This is only true for corporate, which does not allow you to run the missions if you have -2 (in this case -5) faction or worse. You cannot share important missions so your faction will never increase in a gang.
Like Matalino said, if you're -5 to the faction and their allies you are unable to run missions for them until CCP fix it. ______

Sadly... if you shoot any of minmatars allies your in serious doodoo...
criminal connections helps alot too.
If crunch came to shove. i spose you could do missions for anyone that can do lvl 4s for angel cartel. such as me :P
basically upto you what pirate faction you work for.
umm another way to grind up is work for thukker tribe or syndicate. -
At last the Gallente can finally lay claim to saying... "my DICtor" is bigger than yours.

Edited by: Aine Lagerange on 12/02/2008 23:08:33 Thanks so far. What would be an ally of Angel Cartell? I don't know the thing with the pirates that good. :(
Faction standing overrooles the corp standing, that's for sure. :(

i think you find this chart very useful
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
That chart looks accurate from what I can remember of the factions that I have worked for, so in that case you will need to hope that you can run missions for Serpentis, The Syndicate or Thukker Tribe.
If you cannot work for any of those three, it would appear that you can work for ORE to recover your standings with The Syndicate, and then once can work for The Syndicate, you can then begin to slowly recover your standings with the Angel Cartel.
Edited by: Aine Lagerange on 13/02/2008 07:28:07 Then Sansha it is. Sansha is only at -3.08 i can fix this easily :)
Thanks Alora Venoda, this is a really useful map that you provided me with a link.
huh...? now i am confused... co-op missions: both guys get _corp_ standing. the evil guy can do this until that _corp_ finally accepts him, no? he then will get his "own" storylines....? - putting the gist back into logistics |
You can't run missions for a corp if you're below -2 effective standing with their faction. Diplomacy can make up for 3 points, gets you from -5 to -2, that's why -5 is the magic number.
Edited by: Edvard Bleth on 13/02/2008 08:55:12 I was in the same boat you're in, sitting at -5.0 towards the Caldari State. I wound up training Diplomacy V while tagging along with lvl 4 missions with the Caldari corp I wanted to run missions for. When Diplo V finished I was all ready to run lvl 3 and then quickly run lvl 4 missions with Expert Distribution Corp.
I tried grinding missions and storylines with Khanid kingdom (+7.5 towards Caldari from the handy chart linked in a previous post). Unfortunately, the "splash" from running Khanid storylines was very minimal. I think that for every full percentage point my Khanid faction raised I got 0.15 percent standings boost with Caldari. IMO it's not worth the effort unless you're sitting at -5.1 or worse to begin with.
Hope this helps,
EB
To be precise, in order to get a mission from an agent, either your faction, corporation or personal standing has to be above the agents requirement and all three of them have to be above -2.
So it is entirely possible, for example, to have +5 faction and +5 corp standing, but the agent rejects you because of -2 personal standing from too many failed missions for that specific agent. Or having +9 corporation and +9 personal standing from flying with a buddy, but not getting missions oneself because of -2.1 faction standing. -- [17:47] <Mephysto> its dead, jim |
