Whenever you want them to. Get yourself a Megathron with blasters and cover it with enough cap relays to get just enough cap recharge to work them all. Then cover the rest of the low slots with damage mods, and all the med slots with tracking computers and other useful items. Then equip antimatter L ammo, go right up next to a can...  . Only 10,000,000 damage to go! With a fully-kitted blaster megathron, it really doesn't take long

Do they actually have hitpoints? I thought it just said that they were taking damage and it was being ignored.

They do have hit points, just a great deal of them. The larger the can, the more HP's they have.

So can you salvage them? Now that they're unanchored, can anyone just fly by and scoop them into their hold? Will CONCORD take offense? Can you repackage them for your own use?

Hmmm, i guess you can scoop them to your own hold if they are unanchored, but not open them if they are passworded.
You could always recycle them for the minerals, though.

If it's not anchored the password shouldn't work.
And btw, I'm looking forward to the day secure containers will be gone from 0.8 and up.

cow, shadow legacy and epa put cans in my system saying that they claimed these systems...I left the epa one for historic reasons
Strange thing was it only took 240 rounds of antimatar L to kill the cow can

Might have been a small can. Those have a lot less HP than a large (100k or so I think)

I was told it would be impossible to take someone else's can, even if it does get unanchored. So which is it? I'm interested in clearing up a few systems and taking what I can.
