Uhm, it basically went like this...
We reset them 5 minutes prior to invasion.
Sieged system for 2 days til OXIDE surrendered and disbanded.
Left the station up for grabs.

I believe OXIDE surrendered once RK decided to jump on board to kick them out as well. I'm not sure what happened to them after they left.

IRON attacked oxide after a 5min heads up. Oxide asked for help from smashkill. Offer was made for oxide to merge into atlas (wish they would of). They decided not to merge. Atlas and allies took the station. If oxide is still kicking i wish them good luck. Iron started the agressions on oxide but left after a day or so because they were unable to take down the cyno generator( i think). There was no smashkill/iron fighting.
What happened was oxide looked weak so there was a land grab. Pretty much the whole story in 1 sentence. I driks lots [/URL] |

I still remember when you robbed all the hangar assets from your corp mates (Reunited, in Oxide at that time), long time ago when some of us were living in Roir-Y.
I don't know what happened to Oxide, I just wish them a happy living whatever they go :)

Yep thats how it went, our "allies" attacked us, other "allies" let it happen and stood by and watched. All this after YEARS of supporting them and running to their aid whenever called. BTW, why did IRON leave after 2 days, 2 reasons, either / or Tri was coming to beat upon their head and shoulders or Smashkill said get out of the way or die. Either way, it was a lesson that we learned well. Some in IRON have told me that they were disgusted by it, others have left due to it. The same has happened in other alliances as well. Yes we were the weak point in the drone regions, we never denied it. But, we were great allies, allies that NEVER turned on our friends. Even when it almost happened, the core of OXIDE went ballistic and thwarted the attempt. WE may have gotten our space taken from us, but we never lost our honor.

They were never a PVP alliance, 90% Industrialists/carebears they were getting picked off everyday and eventually someone took advantage of that and wiped them out PDQ, i think Oxide have been through that twice. Large alliance to nothing - seems the usual trend recently.

Also, good to see old OXIDE people still around. Not dead, and most definitely not forgotten.
EDIT: Also, I can say it was never a LEADERSHIP problem, the issues started farther down the chains.

Pretty much what happened. IRON had nothing to do with OXIDE¦s demise, SMASHKILL coalition did all the job, and gave us temp blue status to remove our assets (which was a kind offer)
Plus, everyone seems to forgot that OXIDE was a really SMALL alliance. Extremely small, and only very few of them were actual pvp¦ers. We were overrun, so no shame. When the merge offer came, very few seriously cobnsider it. And when the temp blue status was offered, we all took it.
OXIDE, though full of problems and all, was quite a fun alliance. On some regards, I miss it.

I led oxides pvp dudes the years in fade/dek small period in the drone regions and all that Kodus has said is true. We weren't a giant pvp force but we would always support our allies when called and did our best to be good residents. I know personally that many older members of oxide fought in some of the original battles which allowed IRON and back then G to originally take fade/dek
And Ralara, you feel the need to call oxide phailturds, when you robbed a entire pvp corp(RE-D) of all their assets. I dont think oxide is the phailturd here

Rikeka, reminds me that I am remiss. SmashKill did allow us to remove our assets from the area, they honored their word and for that Nothing but respect. Perhaps, if approached diplomatically, things may have gone different, but no one whats to make a deal with a gun to their head. To tell you the truth, not having to deal with the constant whining, blue vs Blue crap, who'se mining in who'se space every damn day has been a blessing. Now all we do is make Isk and practice our PvP. After all we did the learn the lesson.
Oh BTW, xBreaka.....ya noob, when ya coming home ? ROFL

Ah yes, the blue-on-blue. THAT was worth a laugh when it happened. People always whining about the little things, and never trying to be neighbors. So people ratted in Venal, and you didn't like it? Cry harder. We are blue to each other, and you shoot us, and when we show restraint by talking first and not shooting back, it continues? Great system we had going.
We showed up to help friends, but in the end, no one showed to help us. It says a lot. I'm glad that people in this thread remember that. (Except Ralara, but that doesn't surprise me, what with the failposting.)
Just needed to get that out.

Pretty much summed up DMC for us then members who chose to leave soon after.
From what I heard helping OXIDE was seriously on the cards but then DMC leadership backed down because they were too busy getting fat on the profits & they didn't want to annoy SMASH & Co at that time.
And look what happened to them in the end.
