I saw this in the Dev blog and a few ideas and thoughts sprang to mind...
First was the issue that people have about getting BS then losing them. Well I had one and lost it last night but it was insured all be it only 80% so I will have replacement in no time. Why there needs to be a change to the length of time it takes to get one and effort, I don't know. As if its insured and you take the right steps you lose nothing by losing the ship. I know Mods are lost but if you can afford rare items to risk in combat then you should know what you are getting into. Second, the increase in HP hull/armour/shield, this is not needed to increase the length of time a battle could go on for what is needed to increase the time a battle or a ship lasts for is to prevent an easy escape for waring parties. If both parties exchange fire then like jump gates there should be a timer on when the ship can warp away. I know frigate pilots use the hit and run tactic, well to counter this maybe make each class of ship have a different timer, frigate 20sconds cruiser 40 and BS 60? This would mean for the less steel balled they would have to stop combat and wait to run off. So load outs would need to be changed to reflect the fact you can't just load up with a hard hitting ship and a warp core stabaliser to escape before shields drop, but you would have to wait without being combat effective before you could warp out.
These were only a couple of ideas and thoughts I had and possibly a load of crap but they sounded ok at first pass. I am open for critisism so bring it on and cut my ideas to pieces.
