I am considering putting together a service for eve industrialists. In a nutshell it's market analysis. This would be a website or a service that would provide construction cost breakdowns, current selling prices, and profits for anything and everything. I havenÆt worked out the details and tbh I'm not sure if the potential income is worth the time. What I do know is I spend hours analyzing whatÆs profitable (even with tools...it takes time) and I have to assume everyone else does as well in order to stay on top of whats profitable.
Pros off the top of my head: -You would no longer need to analyze what is profitable to build. This would free up hours of your time. -You would automatically know what is profitable to build and sell at any given moment. -It would increase profit for newer industrialists that canÆt identify what is profitable or donÆt know how to calculate costs accurately
Cons: -It could take some of the guess work out of being an industrialist. Anyone would be able to identify what is profitable at any given time. -It should make the market even more competitive. When a highly profitable item is identified it would be exposed and most likely leveled out quicker in the market
ThatÆs all off the top of my headà.I havenÆt fully thought everything through. Feel free to add all the pros and cons to the list that you want. I canÆt help b feel this is a legitimate need given the time that is required to establish what is profitable.
Let me note a few things before we start with feedback. I am an experienced industrialist. I have been working the market for years. I have a fair understanding of the ins and outs (though by no means an expert). I will include aspects such as BP ML, if you purchase your construction materials from market or build them yourself, hopefully different locations with time, and any other aspects that are viable enough to include. Though I am and always will be open to suggestions to improve.
Soàis this something we need? Is this something you would pay for? If soààhow much? For the sake of this thread lets jus assume all numbers will be accurate and all info correct. IÆm not interested in misleading people or leaving anything out. Thoughts?

Depending on how you plan on implementing this, I may be willing to pay for the service.
For example, would this service allow to to instantly know if a certain ship is worth inventing, taking into account Jita (or other hub) prices of all needed materials?

funny you should mention this, but I've started work on a web based tool already for this. At the moment it's only running on my local computer.
However, I have got functioning all the back end database stuff. It's just a case of putting it together in an appropriate front end
Other than that, there is just one hell of a lot of work to do in terms of importing building material reqs. I'm sure there are XML dumps of this somewhere that I could use.
That aside, it's only as good as the latest market prices being input into it, which, go out of date very quickly!

The web site eve central has a in game Market Browser that lets you browse any item in any region in eve. It works by letting people unload market logs via a small client.
If you used such a system you could work out the price to build any thing (add invent bpc's materials ect and pos fuel cost ect) in game. Having a nice front end that works in game and allows people to see what their most intrested in quickly would help. Listing itens from most the most varable to the least ect, and break downs say ammo or ships.
It would require a lot of work to set up and update as eve gets patched. Then their needs to be a way to reward poeple that up loaded market logs with out editing them for personal gain. Thus a server side validation system needs to be in place to check logs that are phased by the web server befor being added to the database.
It would be a sort of kill board for
