Results: If you want to take advantage of CROSSFIRE play EVE on one client, fullscreen. If you want to use more than 2 screens with crossfire off and multiple gpus, use Windows XP 64bit. CROSSFIRE in window mode is a waste of GPUs, in almost all instances only one GPU was used, even when running other games or apps in the background. Installing Catalyst Drivers on Vista64 is a pain in the ARSE!

Not sure if you could help, I got Vista 64 bit a few months back and have had an awful experience with it so far problem after problem. After a few weeks i managed to get round the timing problem that was created by Vista 64 not liking my Dualcore processor.
Once i got it all running smoothly and had installed my drivers etc. I enabled Crossfire in CCC. I instantly got a crash to Blue Screen and each time i reload after it goes straight to blue screen. I have reinstalled 3 times and am now using my XP 32 because if I continued with Vista I think i would have lost the will to live.
Do you know if the hot fix and new driver addressed the blue screen crash error. I would go ahead and try before asking advice usually but it takes me about 3 hours to run through installing Vista due to the above dualcore error.
Any advice welcome or if anyone else has experienced this problem and found a fix A fool and his money are soon parted Better to die with honor than live with shame Diligence is the mother of good fortune Fools rush in where angels fear to tread Trust is the mother of deceit |

Hello! This is what you must do... (Vista x64 ONLY)
1) Download Driver Cleaner Pro & a Registry Cleaner 2) Uninstall all ATI Drivers and Programs in VISTA 64 3) Log into VISTA 64 in SAFE MODE (F8) 4) Run Driver Cleaner pro and select all ATI products 5) Run Registry Cleaner and delete all dead registry links 6) Restart in Normal Mode 7) Install this Graphics HotFix 8) Install this GFX/ Memory Hotfix 9) Download latest Driver for your CPU 10) Install latest Video Driver/ Motherboard Package 11) Install DirectX 9, July 2007
And the following if they apply to you:
Nvidia SLI HOTFIX DX9&10 SLI HOTFIX 2, DX10 GeForce Compatibility HOTFIX 1 GeForce Compatibility HOTFIX 2
AMD Dual Core HotFix Phenom Driver Update
If you are using ATI and Catalyst drivers and you get a "INI File Not Found message" please convo me with where it comes up and I will explain how to fix this.
Hope That Helps.

Oh almost forgot.... Make sure your bios doesn't need the 2nd PCI-X port to be turned on, and make sure you have GRAPHICS init first: PEG, or PEG 0 in Bios settings.
Other thing to make sure is that you have BOTH crossfire cables joined to each card, JCH1 goes to the first card on both cables. Crossfire will work with out both on but will be slower. You also need to make sure that you have 16x PCI-X on your second card. :)
Other things to try is turn HT transport off auto (Defaults to 200Mhz), and try any speed upto your BC. I would imagine the max for your cpu would be about 1400Mhz... but play with it to check. Hyper Transport is like FSB, it controls the speed at which your cards talk to each other, and to the CPU.
If none of this works... install AMD PCI-X Filter and your video card drivers manually from your device manager (Right-Click My Computer).
