ok new patch = massive amounts of ******* FAIL!!!!!
i have no ******* issues and now i ******* get verification fail on 20 odd ******* files!
CCP = fail :(

i just downloaded the new patch and tried to restart client, i now get multiple verification errors:
i cant be bothered to type the whole thing out:
Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please re-install the game client
followed by 11 Verification failed errors
it need to be confirmed if this is a unique case or if this is, yet another, patch issue

As far as I can tell it is a unique case. If you would give me more information I could confirm this.
Making a thread about that you have problems but not accepting any help or giving out any information isn't very constructive.

Please reply with what version and build you had, what patch you downloaded and how (Auto/manual). If you used a manual patch, please supply the link.

I had the latest windows (XP Pro) regular graphics version. Updated this morning ( a few minutes ago no less) and now I get on the server status listing this message "Status: Incompatible (protocol)" when I try to load the game after the patch. Going to try a computer reboot and see if that fixes the issue. I'll edit this message accordingly.

CCP, You may want to check the version. In Windows, classic graphics, right-click, properties...

I have the same problem as OP, I rebooted and now it says nothing and closes the splash screen instantly.

Same thing after computer reboot. Server Status: Incompatible (Protocol)
This bites because I have a character sitting Idle. I had hoped to start his skill training on Mining Barges 1, 2 and 3 today but now it seems I won't be able to do that till after work ( 12 hour shift). This puts me nearly 1/2 a day or more behind schedule.

I had 45943 Build, clasic edition, windows XP system.
Manually downloaded and installed a new patch from this link:
http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/eveclassicpatch45943-49137.exe
at this moment my eve.exe version is 4.10.0.44942.
After launching eve is getting instantly terminated.
No error logs now.
P.S. At my office comp eve is not working, hope that patching will go smooth on my home comp.

While I know glitches like this do happen on occasion, I'm now going to be severely behind schedule in my training, and this is going to have a cascade effect on everything I have planned for this character. I had intended to have Mining barges 1 trained before I went to work, and training started on 2 leaving me only a cpl hours of dead time before I get home to start on 3. I'm now unable to do this, and that places me far enough behind that I have to revise an entire years planned training for this character. I do hope that CCP finds and fixes this problem before I return from work in 12 hours (maybe less if i'm lucky and can get this house finished today).
Good luck with the fix guys. I look foreward to seeing ya'll in game this evening (hopefully)

Having the same or similar issue.
Running Windows XP.
Had been running EVE Classic.
Downloaded the patch via the automatic client update.
Did NOT immediately run the client after it was patched.
Came back a few minutes later and getting the incompatible protocol message.
Client lists my version at: 4.10.49137

Same issue. Client was working fine, now it's not loading due to verification failures. I have a skill ending in 15 minutes (more fool me)

You know there is a thread for "Incompatible protocol" -issue, as the OP didn't have this problem but for him and me and some others the client patched and while starting the client it then gave us "Verification Failure" and a list of broken .dll:s. After this atleast I rebooted and now when starting the game it shows the splash screen and then closes instantly.
So you don't have the same problem but who am I to blame...
