Edited by: Eurzadahn on 19/02/2008 16:28:56 FOR XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CCP - DOES NOT EXIST!! Checked all 3 of my comps with the game (on XP) and there is no such "Application Data\CCP" to be found under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ or any user in that directory for that matter.
We are counting on you guys to do this right the first time. I do not pay for three accounts to have consistent breakdowns, but consistent service. ---------------------------------------------

Edited by: Akira Miyamoto on 19/02/2008 20:00:25 Try %APPDATA% in start->run dialog. You should see the CCP-folder there.
%PROGRAMDATA% in windowsbutton+r (the run) dialog in Vista. _________________________________________________________

None of the folders here exist (XP)... Hell, there was only one folder called CCP in my Docs and Settings folder (was under my username), removed that, didn't help. I think the problem could be that I installed again pretty recently. But anyway, DOESN'T WORK, etc. |

Did you enable "View Hidden folders"?
Do that and search for the CCP folder again.
This is how you do it for windows:
Windows XP and Windows 2003
To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps:
1. Close all programs so that you are at your desktop. 2. Double-click on the My Computer icon. 3. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. 4. After the new window appears select the View tab. 5. Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders. 6. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders. 7. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types. 8. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files. 9. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer. 10. Now your computer is configured to show all hidden files.
Windows Vista
To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps:
1. Close all programs so that you are at your desktop. 2. Click on the Start button. This is the small round button with the Windows flag in the lower left corner. 3. Click on the Control Panel menu option. 4. When the control panel opens you can either be in Classic View or Control Panel Home view:
If you are in the Classic View do the following: A. Double-click on the Folder Options icon. B. Click on the View tab. C. Go to step 5.
If you are in the Control Panel Home view do the following: A. Click on the Appearance and Personalization link . B. Click on Show Hidden Files or Folders. C. Go to step 5.
5. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders. 6. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide extensions for known file types. 7. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files. 8. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer. 9. Now Windows Vista is configured to show all hidden files.

OMFG am I glad I'm not PAYING for this... wait, I am.
Oh well, at least my boot.ini file is still there, at least until THIS gets "fixed"
I did the first instruction and deleted the file. Emptied trash can. (XP) REBOOTED. Tried eve, STILL FUBAR, and the EVE folder in my documents that I deleted came back. I did the show all hidden and same thing. I have 2 comps and one worked perfectly with no work around and this one is fubared. They are both running brand new fresh installs I did after the LAST CCP FIASCO with the boot.ini problem.
Regardless, I want eve fixed and I want a credit for today.

Okay, I figured out how to fix it, since CCP's way doesnt do squat, and it is actually very simple, for XP only, not sure bout vista.
windows explorer OPEN C:/Documents and settings/All users/application data/ccp. DELETE THIS EVE FILE and you will log in normally, I just did it.
The bs search string CCP gives us took me to MY DOCUMENTS and an eve file there and that doesnt do jack.
Ok, did your work for you, I would like to apply for the OBVIOUSLY VACANT quality control AND help desk position you MUST have open.

FPF AJTK: your fix worked perfectly... took me directly to the nasty file and once deleted i had not "protocol" problems.
