For those of us still having the problem of not being able to launch the client, don't lock our threads and send us to the 'incompatible protocol' post. We can't even get to the 'incompatible protocol' problem yet.
The issue is the client not being able to start after autopatching (just disappears after splash screen). Post a FIX for that and quit locking without reading.
CCP - please stop with the nerfing and boost something already. |

Hi,
Did you try reinstalling the client? Clearing the cache folder?

Clearing cache does nothing. And this is on my classic eve folder. and this only happened after I updated the game with teh patch. Premium boots up np but ofc it asks me if I want to patch up which I have declined for now cause I dont want to mess that folder up as well.

No, and yes respectively. TBQH I should not have to have reinstallation as an option. Especially when it's a 'have you tried...' option. I don't want to sit there and re-download the client again for the second time in as many months, when you're not even sure it'll help.

I think I had this some time ago. do ctrl alt del. then in taskmanager go to the processes tab and check if the eve proces is still running. If it is shut it down from there. It worked once for me but then again this could be another issue ôTwo things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.ö |

Thanks, but the only thing that's running when I checked that is my browser for these forums.

I concur with Herring in regards ot having to reinstall the game when the Dev is not even sure if it will solve the issue or not. Also the game is not running in the background as CTR+ALT+DEL will show.

I'm having this problem, clearing cache didn't help and I am now downloading the new premium installer, only took me 3 hours and I'm almost finished. But still I really think it's not good service from CCP to lock threads and referr to "Incompatible (Protocol)" -issue when we have clearly stated we don't have that issue. If reinstall works I will be happy to finally log in.

Damn it.
Ok fine, but it's going in my sig, PITA way to spend my day off.
PS whoever coded this sucks, and owes me beer in perpetuity. And fix the damned autopatcher.
I'm sick of reinstalling, it's not what my days off are for |
