Oh dear. Patch downloadedand installed fine - no problem there. Then I got the message about the protocol problem, so I followed the link given about that. I read the instructions for Linux users. Oh dear..
For a start the instruction is badly mistyped, so cut-and-past wont work. Unfortunatley, I couldnt figure out how to get the darned thig to work even after removing extraneous slashes and entering teh full directory path. So I tried trashing the offending folder (which is what I gather the rm command is intended to do) then emptied the trashbin. Now I cant even get as far as the login, it just BSOD's on me before getting there. Sigh... Could this stuff just be tested a LITTLE more before being put live, please? :-} (Transgaming - I'm looking at YOU as well!)
Anyway, I'm off to do a full download and reinstall.

Hi. Please let me know how that works out.
The steps on how to delete the folder is correct if you have a standard single user install.

dont work here, doesnt matter single or multi user fix, not even folders like the one mentioned. im on ubuntu faisty fawn here. no chance. reinstalling now, will tell u if that works.

Patched my main client and had no issues here. Login worked. Apparently the issue isn't one that affects everyone.

Patched, blackscreened, protocol message, quickfixed (cut and paste worked fine).
