After reading carefully this page here: http://www.eve-online.com/guide/en/g610.asp
Scroll down and there is a nice table that lays out
Encounter/kill - Courier - Trade - Mining - in percentages I find that mining is listed as 0% under the encounter/kill column.
In the game what do I find? I am being sent on missions to kill, combat.
Supposedly it is only 10% Courier missions too, we won't discuss that one here.
Of course if I do not accept a mission I get down rated on my whatever it is with the agent. Get this 5 times in a row I was sent out to kill/combat/encounter - followed by 4 times of getting my agent holos (****????) then the same mining mission twice.
Is this "normal" or is there something wrong here?

mining missions / agents have only been reintroduced to the game 2-3 months ago. i guess the data you found reflects the missions from 4 years ago.

If you get one you don't like, decline before you accept, then ask for a new one. If you get another one you don't like, make sure it's been 4 hours since you last declined one, then decline it and try again. It helps if you have a couple of agents near each other you can try.

This guide was updated, there are references to the tier 3 battleships.
I can only think that it was updated when mining missions were introduced again!

Get in game and right-click the agent and do show info. Is the agent in a Combat division (Command, Security, Internal Security, Surveillance)? It sounds like he/she is. Make sure you pick an agent in a non-combat division. The Division that the agent is under determines what missions he/she will give, and it sounds like you have an agent from the wrong division.
